"Psilocybin is not addictive, does not lead to overdoses and is not thought to have long-term side effects, research has shown. It is a naturally occurring compound in some fungi. A number of studies have shown positive effects on people addicted to opioids, alcohol or tobacco, as well as diminished depression and anxiety. Researchers have found such benefits to mushrooms that the Food and Drug Administration has granted “breakthrough therapy” status to study psilocybin for treating depression. The FDA describes breakthrough therapy as designed to expedite development of a drug after preliminary evidence shows “the drug may demonstrate substantial improvement over available therapy.”

Yeah I really like the keyword micro. Looks good, sounds good, brandable.
Earlier I picked up micropsilocybin/ com

As for the keyword “psilocybin,” it looks bad, sounds bad, is hard to spell, and is therefore unbrandable, but I will say that it is infinitely more scientific sounding and medical sounding than “mushrooms” or worse yet, “shrooms.”
But now I’m wondering what will be the dominant market here, recreational users or medical micro-dose users.
Thoughts on where the money will be, domain wise, recreational or medical?

Psilocybin is all ready the “chosen word”
for science and medical world as well as educated people on the subject. Has been.

I did not choose the term because it looked good or any of the above mentioned reasons. This is where Science and the Medical world are at. It’s the applied treatment method.

Oregon you're next! https://psi-2020.org/

"Up next to vote on shrooms is Oregon, where activists are trying to collect enough signatures to get psilocybin on a 2020 state-wide ballot. Their initiative focuses on "psilocybin-assisted therapy" and would permit licensed manufacturers to administer it to "qualifying adults" under regulations—similar to states with medical marijuana programs. It would also cut back on criminal penalties related to psilocybin."

I agree with what you said about Psilocybin. Its long and prone to typos. (Hence I regged P/s/i/b/i/n (ΨBin) today as a potential brandable name.)

But personally, I like shrooms than mushrooms. Mushrooms represents a broader category. (from edible to highly toxic that can kill you if you eat them.) "Shrooms" is another word for "magic mushrooms" which has those psychedelic compounds that can cure anxiety, depression etc which is what we're interested in this niche. In other words, not all mushrooms have psychedelic compounds but all shrooms/magic mushrooms do. With that being said both shrooms and mushrooms work for an end user. It comes down to personal preference at the end of the day.

I agree. I like shrooms better. I always think of the mushrooms as what is sold at the grocery store or in restaurants, not the psychedelic variety. Shrooms, however, immediately make me think of the psychedelic variety.

was looking for alternative names in the space and came across the below - made me crack up with laughter :xf.smile:

Weigelism
"Belief that was founded in 2008 by Andrew Weigel after the Flying Spagetti Monster warned him in a prophetic, shroom/acid-induced vision that all world religions were wrong and everyone is in fact their own God and there is no God at the same time. Then he climbed on to an Invisible Pink Unicorn and rode off into the south to spread the message and raise money for his church, the Church of Weigel, in hopes of getting enough funding to build a telescope capable of finding Russel'sTeapot. The Church lives on to this day".

True but still doesn’t have the negative connotation that “weed” does to the stoner community. To be honest, you personally may not like the name, but I doubt you’ll find or a new term will prevail as Short/ direct / Marketable as “shroom/s” as in this case unlike Marijuana....you have to dictate the differences between produce, food friendly Mushrooms and ( shrooms) as they are two different categories....where as with Marijuana Cannabis, it’s is Just that Marijuana/cannibs !

However I don’t think the market nore acceptance , will be nearly as wide or massive as the canna industry.

Psilocybin is what it is. The question though, is wheather companies will choose to brand under that term. It will have to hit big.

Talking from a neutral perspective, the wouldn't want to brand my business with that. It doesn't sound well to hear, isnt easy to spell or pronounce for the ''lay man'' who at the end are those you are offering your services.
Shroom/s, Magicshroom/s,Magicmashroom/s with any other words are more easy to relate with.

Just like when talking about weed, hemp, cbd, canna instead of calling cannabidiol or phytocannabidiol.
