I can see a number of these getting picked up - there a few others I'm surprised they accepted the high reserve and can't see selling because of it. What do you think?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I own a .on.ca name that I got in TBR 10 years ago because I knew that I could then reg the .ca version of the name (which I still own) if I got the .on.ca back then.

Smart move!
Sad to say, that when I started and way more active, never considered .ca's , just coms/net/org/infos

Trident resources filed for creditor protection which is why I was researching the name.

There are 50 (Fifty!) LLL domains on the TBR list this week, and not one of them I would pay more than $10 for. After doing some WHOIS research, it was quite obvious why, as these LLLs are apparently from the same previous owner, who likely mass-registered them during a $1 sale and then dropped them all like a lead balloon.

It just goes to show that numbers can be deceiving.

And again this week, be aware if cutting and pasting. Some zero's dressed up as o's

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't think I'll be taking part in this week's TBR - I honestly can't find a 1-word that I would want, and the LLLs are all absolute junk that were all registered for a buck and then dropped.

It's been a long time since I've seen a list this bad.

Bromium.ca is an interesting one.- "Bromium's top competitors are Invincea, Comodo and Avecto".
It's interesting to me that due to the price of quality single word dot coms, BrandBucket style crap is becoming more and more prevalent. Single word dot ca's are still readily available and cheap...get 'em fast.

Bromium.ca is an interesting one.

Yep, and I have that one in brandables.

There are plenty of names that I would pick up.. on sale for reg costs... but none that really stand out as an ultra-premium worthy of a nice bid offer on TBR. You virtually never see that.

:xf.eek::xf.confused:O_o:ROFL::ROFL: Spex!

Really made me laugh!

Me too. Given the low quality this week, I screwed around and just search for weird keywords...almost spit out my coffee when I saw this one :)

The .CA To Be Released / TBR Weekly Picks for May 8 are online. Come smell the quality!

The overall .CA numbers are up just a bit from the past few recaps, but the quality of the list took a major tumble. There are 50 LLL domains and not one is even mid-range, while the single-words are also numerous but with no premium domains at all. Our Top Picks list reflects this, with some "very good" names like...

You forgot Chromis.ca: It's a brandable, but also an aquarium fish.

Good catch, and I didn't know that was a fish.

It's total serendipity. Started looking for fish that the kids won't kill right away...and there it was!

I think you have it backwards, it is good because people are recognising the good domains and hanging on to them while dropping the bad ones.

So yes, bad for us but as a group the public and domainers are getting smarter about the value of domains.

To tell the truth, I think a lot of these premium .CAs lately have been due to longtime domainers dying, and their valuable domains just floating off into the ether.

I talked about this before, and it's still happening.

I think you're right and it's probably one of the last opportunities to get into premium .ca's below retail.

Well, at least until the next domainer dies... it's the circle of life.

Another hole-in-one?

cspas.ca @ 14:00:00.000000 by 8433763 Canada Inc.

It's not reserved, it's already allocated at the provincial level:

Another reason for low quality LLL ..this kind of stuff that I don't see in other extensions..CBN.on.ca ..

Nice "cannabis" addition to blog
