Title says it all.

Is Undeveloped worth the commission cost for ease of use or is it more profitable + safe to use escrow with your own website?

It depends, really. I find Undeveloped suitable for most cases, very easy transactions, and I see how it is more convenient for many buyers not going through complicated and time-consuming confirmation on Escrow. Plus selling domains with 60 days lock on them never been easier, you just push them to Undeveloped account and it's not your problem anymore. And the commission goes down when you register your own leads. However, of course, there are cases when Escrow is a better choice.

Undeveloped seems to be a better option because of the multiple payment options for sellers.

There may be specialized cases involving high value assets (and of course when the sale is not just a domain but content and other assets) where Escrow.com with their official escrow status in various jurisdictions is needed or warranted, but for most run of the mill transactions I think Undeveloped is the perfect choice. They have efficient and fast handling of the transaction, offer various payment options, pay out to you fast, and in my opinion are very reasonable for the service that they perform. The fact that comes with the imo best landers in the industry is a bonus.

What do you mean the commission goes down?

If you enter the name and contact as a lead, so they are coming to your name not from the Marketplace or general lander, then the commission is 5% not 9% I believe. I have not used it, only had straight 9% sales at DAN/Undeveloped, so if I have this wrong please correct me someone.

Yup that’s what it looks like. I just now noticed it after looking around more. I sold a few $xxx listed on Dan but did the transaction via PayPal myself since I didn’t wanna pay the 9%. I will definitely have to try that out on the next 4 figure sale.
