This thread is a central location to report domain name sales of any dollar amount.

As much information as you can include about the transaction is welcome, but at a bare minimum please include the domain name(s), the sale price, and whether you were the seller.

Good luck with your sales!

  • Tip: Use the Like/Thanks feature instead.

Questions are allowed, but do not post commentary. If you want to discuss or comment on a sale in this thread, quote it and then post it in the following thread instead:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Sold new//homes//near//me//com for $1980.

This was via afternic. Listed it on undeveloped for $599 (which was the landing page) but buyer went for the higher price on afternic

Bought $1 via networksolutions
Hold time was 4 months

I don't really like Afternic delay in terms of payment. Unlike undeveloped that pay you within 24 or 48 hours, it took almost 2 weeks to receive my payment.

But I'm happy the buyer didn't pay the $599 that I had on undeveloped.

Got $1584 after the 20% deduction

Thanks for reading.

Domain name: My/ World/ dot/App
Sale price: $4000
Actual received: $3980 ( $20 escrow bank processing fee. Escrow transaction fees of $130 paid by buyer)
Sale venue: Outbound
Purchase price: $220 ( premium domain) +$110 (renewal)
Hold Time: 11 Months 15 Days

Good to Know: Had approached the firm almost 11 months back with a higher price and they had not responded. As renewal month was approaching and I was positive they would buy at a lower offer, I renewed it. They negotiated a bit and we closed the deal.

Hello,

Great outbound sail! I was wondering if you used some kind of paid service to get in touch with the CEO of said firm.

It depends. If its a corporate, I seek the email ID of the marketing head. If small firm then the CEO/ founder. In the absence of an public email ID, it is not too tough to analyze the email ID pattern/ format of an corporate. If still unsure, you can still insert all the possible formats. Seeing the bounce back report, you can determine which actually reached.

Domain name: VaporGuide.com
Sale price: $120
Sale venue: GD Auctions
Purchase price: $142 (Pheenix Auction)
Hold Time: Almost 3 Years

Good to Know: Another loss incurring sale. Buyer made a $100 offer on the domain name and went silent. I countered him at least 5-6 times in past 1-2 years, but he didnt move, respond and kept quiet. After countering for number of times, I finally countered $20 more than his offered price yesterday, and he accepted :)

So did you renew or not renew? You said you approached buyer again becasue renewal was due.
And why is renewal cost less than purchase? For .app premium domains registration and renewal are same, arent they?

It was renewed prior to reaching out to client again (TIP: If your domain is very close to the expiry date, it is best to renew and then sell. It shows you have faith in the domain and the seller will not think that you might drop it and hence not offer)
Paid $110 as renewal cost ($108.90 to be precise). I dont think registration and renewal cost is the same for pemium domains. Attached screenshots of registered and renewed price

Oh you registered it in EAP, that is why price is double of its registration cost (while registration cost $110 is premium in itself).
