Until recently I didn't know who I was? A professional in this industry referred to me as a brand guy and not a domain guy. I guess I'm more addicted to brands than domains, but I really don't understand the difference.

Now that I know I'm part brander, I just reg'd BrandAccident (see reg of the day) because of the way I discovered this industry, and the reason half of my brands/domains exist:xf.rolleyes:

What are you?

I have a few questions:

1) For the better part of a year you were bragging how you were a "Domain Originator", now you announce you are a Brander or Brandomainer. What went wrong ?

2) If you are a brander, can you post a couple of your domains that have been accepted to professional branding sites ?

3) Regarding "BrandAccident", can you still get a refund ?

Thanks.

Turns out I'm a Brand Originator...as a matter of fact I registered two today totally by accident and one of the brands is already on it's way to Nike having to do with Tiger. Do you know who Tiger is? Have you ever heard of the Clemson Tigers? How about LSU, Auburn or the Missouri Tigers. Ever hear of any of them? Why would I list them on a professional branding site when one of my contacts is a personal friend of a board member at Nike:xf.wink:?

Keep berating my friend...I would expect nothing less from you:xf.rolleyes:

You keep telling us stories about how you are in talks with very important people, but nothing ever comes of those talks.

So many "partners" or "interested parties", but nothing. How is that silly lump crab thing you claim you were working on ? Nothing ?

The day you can show us one of your brands listed on a brandable site is the day I will believe you know anything about branding. Anybody can do it, but for some reason you can't.

Did you forget you told us that you hired a company and paid them $2000 to name a company for you ? LOL.

Look, dont try to make "BrandAccident" happen by saying you just regged 2 more "by accident". It doesnt work that way.

I am not berating you, I asked 3 questions. You come in here and give what many have said is bad advice, you could stop, but you just keep doing it.

Well, I made my point here. Have fun wasting money, you "millionaire".

ps - seriously though, get a refund for that domain.

You sir really need a course in reading comprehension. I'll just address what you bolded. "Did you forget you told us that you hired a company and paid them $2000 to name a company for you ?" Now if you paid "closer" attention Jimbo, I said I hired a company and paid them $2,000 for me to come up with the name AcSel for a medical billing company I previously named Accounts Receivable Management Corporation back in the early eighties, probably before you were born:xf.confused: Now you can indulge yourself by going to my Linkedin bio on my information page here on NP then under "Experience" read what it says....actually I'll save you the trouble:xf.grin:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
President and CEO
Company Name AcSel
Dates Employed January 1978 - December 1983
Employment Duration 16 yrs
Location Virginia Beach, Va.

AcSel Corp, a medical billing company and service bureau was formed in 1978 by Richard Morris in Virginia Beach, Va. Richard sold AcSel to his partner Phil Redmond, and Mr. Redmond has successfully operated Acsel for the last 24 years.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jimbo, what is your problem? You can't possibly learn anything new from me despite one of my 80 year old friends quotes, "If you want to learn something new read an old book"

Finally, when I learned that many of the brands in existence today were discovered by accident, I decided to risk lunch money ($8.50) on BrandAccident:xf.cool: Jimbo, you might want to try bashing BeTheTiger™, the idiom domain I hand registered last week for lunch money. Also, it's the name Rob Monster my friend from Epik in Seattle is serving up to one of his buddies who is a director at Nike. btw, if it weren't for professionals like Rob, CEO of Epik I wouldn't be wasting my time with you and your ilk:xf.rolleyes:

Thanks for following and berating me Jimbo, your comments are very stimulating. God Bless you my son:xf.smile:

I guess I'm more addicted to brands than domains, but I really don't understand the difference.

Branding has nothing to do with domains contrary to what a lot of people accept to be true. Domains are part of marketing. You market a brand by using a domain. Unless you file for the name with .com included.

You could just as well market your brand by using a social media profile and use the same branding.

Brandable domains are backwards thinking. These days it can be quite important to chose a brandable as the starting point of your branding process as usually for the marketing of your brand it's inevitable to own the .com hence the confusion amongst the mass.

Unless he's going to develop something about failed branding ofcourse. It'd make sense when used to show brands with weird meanings in other languages, unfortunate kerning, things like that.

Thanks a lot NameDeck. I had to read your post slowly three or four times to understand. Lawyers use the word "convoluted", and I must say understanding the differences can be a little complex, but your explanation was pretty good. Thanks again.

I actually like it. Accident may be his key to success.

JayT...I read somewhere a while back how many business, inventions and names were discovered by accident, thus BrandAccident...i would have picked up DomainAccident but it wasn't available. Somehow I'm pretty sure I was an accident, but who's counting the days from January 1947 in Lake Placid, NY when Mom and Dad were on their Homeymoon, and I somehow was riding in the fallopian luge:xf.grin:

Sure, and sometimes stupid things are the most memorable. I think main feature of a good domain is that it's unforgettable. Sometimes that's a stupid sounding name. Your domain is stupid, but it's memorable. I doubt anyone else sees it but maybe if you have it for a purpose u can start something there.

Thanks JayT...i just made a connection with an ad agency out of Alabama called PunchDrunkDigital. Now there's a memorable name for you. Check out their website and tell me what you think. I have a few pretty wacky/catchy/memorable domains, one of which could be branded for a National Realtor. I think I've shared it on the Reg Of the Day, but if anyone would like to know what it is and how I believe it's way more powerful than names like ReMax, Century21 or Keller Williams, I'll let you know later.

Lol, dunno. Could be just you ;) Or maybe the combo of me being on the road, on mobile and not being a native English speaker that made my post a bit difficult to understand :)

Actually, it wasn't too difficult to understand, but I've always know you can say the exact same thing to ten different people and everyone will hear something different. That's just the nature of verbal and sometimes written communications. Thanks again.
