DYNADOT
I like the way DynaDot handles the yearly WhoIs verification:

We are required by ICANN to send you the whois information for these domains once a year. If the information is correct, no action is needed. Otherwise please visit our website and update your whois information:

http://www.dynadot.com/account

which means that you needn't take any action unless something is incorrect, changed, etc. No chance of losing a domain due to inaction. Plus who has time to click a verifying link for hundreds or thousands of domains?

Same, no action required to maintain:
Hello,

This email is in response to ICANN's requirement that registrars ask their customers to confirm that their contact information in WHOIS is accurate. You can read more about this requirement on ICANN's site at http://www.icann.org/whois/wdrp-registrant-faq.htm. We send this email one time every year so you will not receive it again until one year from now.

You are receiving this message because your information is associated with one or more domains for which we are the registrar of record. To make this process as easy as possible, we ask that you click the link below and follow the provided instructions.

No action is required if your contact information is correct. If it is not, there will be options at the below link for updating your details.

Whois Data Reminder Policy
Dear _________,

Thank you for choosing to register your domain names with Name.com. This is your annual notice to remind you that all registered domain names must have accurate and up-to-date Whois contact information.

Please review the domain information below and verify its accuracy. If all information is up-to-date then no changes are necessary at this time. Inaccurate or outdated information must be corrected by logging into your Name.com account. If you need to make any changes to your contact information, please log in to your Name.com account or contact the party responsible for registering your domain name.

You can edit your contact information by following the URL provided below:

https://www.name.com/support/articles/205188468-Account-Password

While we do respect your privacy, we are required by ICANN, our regulating authority, to send these notices annually to all domain contacts. To learn more about this process and why it is required, please visit ICANN’s website:
http://www.icann.org/whois/wdrp-registrant-faq.htm

You are required to have accurate contact information whether your Whois data is public, or privatized. If any of the Whois information for your domain names is inaccurate, ICANN policy requires that you correct it. Please know that under the terms of your registration agreement in certain cases the provision of false Whois (contact) information can be grounds for cancellation of your domain name registration.

If you are not the registrant for a domain name registered with Name.com and you have received this email in error, please send an email to [email protected] and we will remove you from our list. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Thank you for choosing Name.com, please feel free to follow up with our Support Department at [email protected] with any questions or concerns you might have.

GODADDY
GoDaddy forces you to click that link for every single domain, once a year, to verify. A real pain.

Dear ________,

It's that time of year. Because you are the administrative contact for the following domain names registered at GoDaddy as of 3/2/2017, ICANN, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (and/or the associated ccTLD authority), requires that we ask you to review your contact data and make any changes necessary.

XXX.COM

Review/Update your contact information now

GoDaddy keeps reminding you until you do it:

Don't forget to update your info.

Did you miss our last email? No worries. There's still time to review and update your domain contact info.

If you've already done this, thanks. If you haven't had a chance yet, please confirm everything is up to date for the following domain(s):

XXX.COM
XXXX.COM

Verify Your Info Now
You must sign in to view and update the domain details.

Not to mention anyway: AVOID GoDaddy hosting company they will shut down all your sites if even one Trademark claim is made

NetSol sent me one yesterday forcing verification of email or risk suspension of domain.

Here is the email they sent:

Network Solutions is now required by ICANN (the regulating body for domain registrations) to have all domain owners confirm their email address contact information or their domains will be deactivated. If your domains are deactivated you will still own the domains but you will not be able to have live websites until you verify your contact information. If you wish to view the list of domains subject to verification, please login

ive been with gd since 2015... and never clicked a single domain there to verify... nor ever lost one because of not verifying.

but I'll give them a call to double check this info.. maybe they changed it startign this year.

well... calling wasn't too helpful... so I'll ask @Joe Styler to confirm
I'd be real suprised if godaddy does it different than most common and popular registrars (lcn not being on that list in my books)

oh wow lol
so I learned something new today... seems another rep on fone I tried was more friendly and willing to talk lol

so it goes like this.. but hopefully @Joe Styler can still confirm :)

godaddy does ask you to click button to verify domain. the thing is... they will never do it for all the names you own.. they just randomly pick a name... not sure how often... I guess once per year.. but I got impression from rep that it could be once per 2 years etc.. so they pick a name randomly... sned you email to verify whois on it... and if you click ok.. then they basically consider all the names in your acocunt with that whois info (which should mean ALL names in yer account) to be verified

there... I think that makes good sense.

but I agree it is still different from most other places.. I wonder why... cheers.

We have to verify WHOIS based on ICANN rules.

Am starting to receive the annual GoDaddy emails requesting verification of WhoIs email addresses for domains that remain at GDaddy (haven't transferred them all out yet, but will due to issues client had at GoDaddy)

CyMWLqil.jpg

the emails are legitimate, but Question is: when I login to the account I can't find a complete list of all domains that are requiring current WhoIs verification?

I'd rather just deal with this all at once, rather than tracking down piecemeal all the different emails that correspond to different domain WhoIs for my GoDaddy domains.

This process described here:
https://www.godaddy.com/help/verifying-contact-information-for-icann-validation-8948
doesn't seem to apply. No domains show Pending WhoIs Verification status and there is no orange notification banner at the top of the Manage All / my Domains section, notwithstanding many current "Action required: Verify your contact info" emails from GoDaddy that I have not yet acted upon.

Is there an updated way to login to the GoDaddy account and figure out which domains are currently pending WhoIs verification for ICANN?
