question Is it worth invest in .org and .net in 2019?

Not a fan of .net but I definitely pickup good one word .org names whenever I can. By good I mean names that actually make sense with the .org extension.

Examples would be Good.org, Help.org, Feed.org etc.

completely agree. I found a dropped one word .org and as I posted it here in namepros, it sold for decent amount in no time.

I sold a .org for 2K very recently so I would say yes.

I believe .ORG still has a place if the keyword relates to a non-profit concept. I have never focused on .ORG acquisition but the sell-through rate of the few I have held has been even higher than .Com. .Net sales were much easier say 2012 and prior when exact-match names could be easily ranked and we did not have hundreds of new extensions. It has been years since I last acquired a .Net but I still renew about 10% of the best ones acquired many years ago. 90% of my .Net domains have been dropped. Despite the low renewal fees, there are too many TLD options to justify holding a large portfolio.

I agree that with good keywords .org is definitely worthwhile. It seems to be growing (slowly) in sales and in real world use has been slowly increasing as a fraction of the world's web traffic for about a decade. As long as the registry does not go crazy with renewal rates after the cap is gone, definitely investment worthy in my opinion. I actually commented on it in my most recent weekly domain sales analysis report I posted yesterday.

I think with .net the messages are more mixed, but for sure they are still selling including at good prices. For example the great name butterfly .net sold for a great price at GD yesterday. Real world use is though declining, both in terms of registrations and web traffic. I see .net should mainly be where the extension supports the word - i.e. for some kind of network or net.

I love me some .org domains, the downside being, that they are 50% more expensive to renew than .com's.

Also a downside for .org's is that they have to be a ''good cause'' domain for them to make sense, as that is what they are mostly associated with.

I don't really agree. A business is also an organization. While .org sells well for nonprofit uses, it also is increasingly general purpose. Here are some of the names sold for $1000 or more in first few months of 2019 with .org that seem to me probably commercial (there are many others).

Spot on Bob. There are some commercial niches that love .org. Crypto comes to mind (as in your list) but there are others.

I have been doing surprisingly well in .net in 2018 to be honest. Gonna invest some more this year if I can get decent ones as personally I've always been a fan of the tld. But you know, it's not for everyone.
