The domain name has been expired and should go on closeout auction but after ending $12 auction without any bids it was go on the dark and the owner showing "Afternic, LLC - On Behalf of Domain Owner"
So what happens with closeout auctions?
Thank you

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Some one bought it literally the second it got into closeouts. It's now being held by the afternic transfer service until it's scheduled moving date.

Someone may have backordered it using the $10 service at Godaddy at the last minute

But only large GoDaddy partners can do those backorders now, as that scam got taken away from end users awhile back.

There are lots of expired domains that are auto-backordered the millisecond they hit Closeout status and it's a better strategy to put in a minimum bid on any auction that you *really* want as these Partner Bots are really cleaning up.

I though that backordering is allowed only for drops not expired domains

End users can no longer make use of this scam, as GoDaddy removed the loophole, but their large "partners" still do it.

Godaddy has something like that. When yes u see expired names starting at 10 dollars at Godaddy, instead of the 12 dollars, that is back order name. If no one bid on it, it goes to the 10 dollars bidder
