The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
But the company name is YesMetal, so it fits.

Now, whether YesMetal is a good brand is a different conversation, but no way I would use anything but my brand name for the website.

Not really..... they brand under numerous brand names for flyers but doubtful that it is the actual end user company name. The reason they do that is because they give lifetime warranty and every so many years they dissolve and launch under a new name. It is not uncommon to have them operate under 2-3 different companies all tied to a holding company.

I was burned once on a metal roof and that is exactly what happened.

It's the quality of the name picked though that could have been better for flyers.

Any thoughts on Curler.ca ?

Drop?

Renew?

Sell? ;)

Was thinking a development project might be a good idea, a curling 'magazine' type website... But have not gotten anything going on it...

Thanks

The .CA To Be Released / TBR Weekly Picks for April 10 are online:

The overall .CA numbers are virtually the same this week as the last few weeks, but the overall quality of TBR domain names has certainly gone up compared to last week, especially when it comes to single-words. A lot of these are also aged domains, with registration dates going back to 2002, as if a longtime domainer suddenly dropped his or her portfolio. Our Top Picks mirror this and include...

Read This Now Before the Black Hole Gets You!

Wow, where is everybody?

Prediction time:

MyID gets 75.ca first overall
Between 135-145 names taken
Under-the-radar TBR domain: Geode.ca

Holy crap, 10Dollar.ca got 75.ca. :xf.eek:

Honestly, it looks like MyID and Sibername sat this one out, or were going for domains I had under the radar. I don't see anything I had in the Top 10 being won by either company.

Namespro got Addiction and Precious, sold for $2000 and $1000 respectively.

Nothing on my radar list was picked up by myid or sibername either. And I know I placed orders with both. Makes me wonder if they both host their servers at the same company and there was some sort of network lag that threw them off their game? And when does namespro _ever_ get even a single top pick let alone two? Usually they're collecting garbage at the end, no?

I'm honoured that I was the high bidder for 'Addiction' at Namespro...for about half a second this morning before the big guns showed up :)

Probably by bots that updated the bids at one second before it closed...

Lets hope that CIRA doesn't claim something went wrong and try and redo the TBR! I was pretty happy to not see them sweep everything for once.

Wanna bet the tech guys at siber & myid are flooding CIRA with calls & emails crying foul right about now?

Definitely something going on with MyID and Siber, similar to how they ruled the first few weeks under Fury, while everyone else had technical issues galore.

Same thing happened to everyone else the first 2 weeks under the new CIRA system, and there was plenty of screaming and yelling from other registrars. This was mostly due to the CIRA changing from Canadian time to UTC and a lot of registrars totally missed out.

This might have been what happened - someone changed the server time or upgraded software that changed it, and suddenly the TBR run never fired up.

But hey, Karma sucks.

And this week is especially juicy because of 75.ca and all the hot single-words.

UGGGHHH.... An insider tells me that CIRA sent a vague message about today's TBR run. they've locked all the domains that were registered and there is a possibility that they will cancel the run. CIRA better get their shit together cause this is bullshit.

TBR Session Update

Please be advised that CIRA has closed today's TBR session in advance of the
scheduled closing time. We are currently investigating an issue and will
provide an update before end of business today. In the interim, all
successful TBR CREATES are being locked.

Uh oh, the CIRA seems to have shut down and there doesn't seem to be any WHOIS, TBR, TBR Results, etc.

If they reverse the TBR run, there needs to be an investigation on what's going on.

What a bunch of bozos, and it's highly amusing when MyID and Siber are running wild on the TBR during the first few weeks under Fury, getting 90% of the top domains, while everyone else had technical issues (lots of Registrars had zero selections), none of the runs were cancelled.

Then they suddenly run into problems, while all the "little guys" seem to have no problem selecting names, and the CIRA immediately locks the run and will probably reverse it.

Very suspicious, and if it gets reversed, then we'll know it's a fixed game with MyID and Siber running the show. Duh!

Every other week it's another roller coaster ride. CIRA's boyfriends couldn't get the win so it's mulligan time.

"But you promised we'd win all the good ones."

Exactly, and if they reverse it, then it proves all the theories we have are true.

I talked to some Registrars who were totally locked out during the first 2 weeks of TBR Fury, and the CIRA essentially said "tough tittie", but suddenly MyID and Siber have problems and it's time to lock the whole system down.

DataSource.Error: Web.Contents failed to get contents from 'https://api.ca.fury.ca/api/tbr/lastSessionResults' (404): Not Found

Uh Oh. Looks like they scrubbed the TBR Results.

Wow, looks like Siber got everything, time for everyone to go home while the CIRA edits the WHOIS records. :xf.cool:

.

It's just a mistaken email, that's all.

I got that type of email from Sibername too, and then further below, it also said "Unfortunately, we could not get these domains:" and in that list were some domains they actually did catch for me (I saw in the whois that Sibername got them).

So their system thinks they caught some domains that they did not actually catch, and did not catch some domains that they actually did.

Word is that TBR has been officially cancelled. And get this, CIRA didn't really screw up, MyID and Sibername did!! And they're cancelling it for them. Un.Effing.Believable.

CIRA’s policy has always required that registrations contain both a registrant contact and an admin contact. Since the transition to Fury and until the afternoon of Monday, April 8, the .CA registration system was not requiring an admin contact when, per CIRA policy, it is mandatory.

On Monday afternoon, CIRA fixed the configuration to require that all domain registrations include both a registrant and an admin contact, as per CIRA policy. This change applied both to regular and TBR registrations. Unfortunately, we did not advise registrars of this fix. As a result, CREATES that did not include an admin contact were rejected by the system during today’s TBR session.

Due to this issue, CIRA has cancelled the results of today’s TBR session. Domain names that were originally on today’s list will be added to next week’s TBR session including those acquired outside/after the TBR session closed. We will be manually refunding all successful registrations to registrars.

Nope. They are auctioning all those names as we speak. 19 hrs to go.
