Toni.com hit GoDaddy expired auctions this morning and is already up to $21,260. The domain looks to have been registered in 1996 and owned by a company from Ecuador. The company, Industrias LΓ‘cteas Toni S.A has an active website at ToniCorp.com. Where do you think it closes? It was for sale for $11,000 in 2013, can still recall this domain name.

I think most domain investors prefer going to bidding wars rather than buying domains when it's so cheap. Lack of knowledge is the main factor here. They automatically sees domain as valuable immediately others starts bidding on it.

Is the company still in existence?

I'm sure a bunch of domainers have already tried to contact the company to buy this name before the auction ends.

Too late, they can’t renew...

Too late, they can’t renew...

it expired on 3-15

they have a full 30 days to renew on gd (with redemption fee)

or to transfer out for free.

thats for gd regged nmes like this one. if regged elsewhere its even more.

if there are bids on day -30, gd locks the name. and its too late then.

there is an extremely low chance this will not get renewed... but hey... still fun to watch!

So 5 days left still to recover, yep sure it's a $70 recovery fee at Godaddy. But i'd be amazed if both the phone lines and emails haven't been swamped at the registrants contacts

Question : Why godaddy expired auctions are getting more bids as compared to public auctions . If you list domain Toni(dot)com in godaddy public auction will not go above $10000 - but its in expired auction now wait and watch ;) godaddy knows which domain is valuable and how to auction that domain lol .

There will be too much competition in the bidding

often regular auctions have start prices or reserve...else i dont think its true expired have more bids...for same names of course

Tony Awards.

9 days to go plenty of time for it to get renewed and bids going so high so fast to me shows people aren't really expecting it to close. If it does make it to end, seeing an unjustifiable close at 65-85k. If it goes over 100k, we are getting coo-coo at this point. Not an extraordinary name, imo.

To some extent, GoDaddy valuations shown in the expired auctions, are much popular amongst bidders and thus attract high bids unlike their Public auction format.

expired auctions were done automatically for all expiring domains while public auctions were done by domain owner, that's completely different... public auctions could come with pricey minimum bid
