Let's see who can acquire the best .COM hand registration during the month of March? "Best" will be determined by your peers. You have to create it during the month of March 2019. As long as it says created 03-2019 it could have been a name born before that died and lost its age. Let me be clear, for this March contest the name has to be a new DOT COM hand reg that you own.

Here are the rules of this DOT COM HAND REG MARCH 2019 contest:

1. Hand registration during the month of March 2019.
2. You may submit up to 7 domain names. (Each name submitted must have it's OWN Reply post).
3. So if you want to submit 7 names, submit SEVEN separate Reply posts.
4. I am excluding myself from entering the contest, since I am facilitating the event!
5. The Top 20 Finalist will be selected the following way .---> (10) "Likes" entries with the most "Likes" in the thread and (10) Wildcard entries selected by a team of 5 panelist from the NamePros community. The 5 panelist will be announced after month end to avoid mid-month lobbying. Additionally, the 5 panelist (Wildcard pickers) will be be non-participants in the contest to avoid a conflict of interest and will be respected NPros members that have a wealth of experience in domaining. The panelist members will be a familiar lot.
6. The WINNER will be selected by your peers via a TOP 20 POLL from the Top 20 Finalist mentioned above.
7. The TOP 20 POLL will occur at the end of the month. This will be a 72 hour poll.
8. We welcome EVERYONE to participate in selecting the WINNER from the Top 20 Finalist list.
9. In the event of a TIE during with winner polling, the tie-breaker will go to the WINNER with the earlier submission posted to this thread. (a plan to avoid any misunderstand should a tie occur)

TOP 20 Finalist
  • Finalist Pick 10 - those 10 names with the most "likes" make it to the Top 20 (user involvement).
  • Finalist Pick 10 - those 10 names that a panel selects make it to the Top 20 (panel involvement).
  • Top 20 Poll - this involves everyone, but only for a 72 hour window at month end (ALL involvement).

What do you win?

  • Number one, props and recognition here at Namepros.
  • I will personally pay $20 JACKPOT (via PayPal) to the WINNER.
  • Anyone wishing to contribute an additional $0.30 to the Jackpot - contact me via PM - and I will add your contribution on top of the $20 Jackpot I have committed (let's see how large a Jackpot we can build).

* Sponsors welcome. Send me a PM.

JACKPOT UPDATE:

* We have had (9) NP members generously contribute additional funds to the JACKPOT.
* The JACKPOT is now at $200 Total + 1 Efty Growth subscription

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I just cast my 3 votes too - I checked 3 boxes on the ballot on top of the page, then hit submit and all 3 votes went through and all 3 were counted in the results.

Yeah, I figured it out. Earlier today when the voting was first started, you could only choose one (radio buttons). After I posted that, I clicked to change my vote and saw it was changed to check boxes.

Done my part of voting...

This is harder than I thought...

Deciding which one to get your support is complicated...

Personally I tried to see usability and casted my votes without checking results before... ;)

Sure I don't like some names at all and some are gems....now community decides who gets the prize...

It can only be judged fairly and with good intentions if more number of members utilise their votes....
Please all members do give their part of decision...

Good luck

I wonder which domain has the highest GoDaddy value of the bunch?

I checked all 27 as quickly as I could. If I recall correctly,
1 was $3xx, 2 were $6xx and the rest were all between $1100 and $1800.

Of course, it means nothing.

People should consider possible uses for that domain before voting.

The more possible uses, the better, & the more valuable a domain can be.

Be fair in your voting.

imo

For those interested, this is how I told @BrandCougar I would be judging the domains ...

Ategy.com said:
Basically I'm looking for the ones I'd want most in my portfolio. The ones I'd think would get me the best return and have the best chance of selling. So effectively while some might be really cool or original, if there's no end user, it's going to be a no for me.

Then based on that I did 3 elimination rounds going down to 113 domains, then 52 domains and finally 36.

I then put the final ones through Estibot just to make sure none had any traffic or CPC stats on keyword domains which might have merited extra attention (I didn't look at the actual Estibot value at all). In the end the Estibot part didn't really change much from what I already would have thought.

However, 6 keyword domains that I thought could maybe have traffic value (the reason I kept them until my Estibot round) didn't have enough for me to consider them investment grade, so that brought me down to 30. From there I made a top10 (no order) and "the next 5" (again no order) as I wasn't sure if BC needed 10 or 15 names.

Congrats to all the finalists and the eventual winner! :)

Hello @BrandCougar ,
I want give you one big THANK YOU for the amazing job this month and for all efforts and time that you invest in this contest.
Great job really.

....and one correction, it's not so important but the name D/u/e/l/L/a/b is with "s" in the end, i mean it is "labs".

Protip for next contest: Pick an "A" domain so you're at the top of the voting list. I've won countless contests with this one simple hack.

@dncafe -

Good point.. but who said I will always sort by Alpha? :xf.wink:

Thanks for posting. You are correct there are a lot of "A1 Plumbing" companies listed in the old yellow pages (both online & in print).

@WatchDogue & @EbookLover -

You are correct. You may select up to 3 choices.

@EbookLover - Your post # 748 was also correct. I originally created the Poll with a "Single Pick" model, then within a 1/2 hour of creating the poll decided it would be more flexible for the participants to have more selection options so upgraded the poll to the "up to 3 choices" option to provide more voting flexibility for the participants.. Please feel free to re-vote and see if it allows you to select 2 additional choices.

The poll will remain at the "up to 3 choices" option for the remainder of the 3 day voting window.

Thanks for mentioning the topic.

Thanks for the positive feedback.

Also, thanks for bringing to my attention the "s" was omitted on DuelLabs in the Poll Choices List.

Unfortunately I am unable to Edit the choices in the poll now that the poll is LIVE, however, I have send an email to Eric (NPros) to ask if he could make the correction as a site Admin.

>> and one correction, it's not so important but the name D/u/e/l/L/a/b is with "s" in the end, i mean it is "labs".

My apologies. When cutting & pasting the entries from my spreadsheet to the poll choice list, I somehow missed and didn't drag the mouse over the entire base word before typing in the "(dot com)" on the end.

I am hopeful Eric can fix this for us.

Hey Cougar,

Congratulations on your achievement. Perhaps 25% of the next prize, should be awarded to the CH, to cover coffee expenses at least :)

Are we allowed to share how we voted?

Anyway, I just voted, I struggled with the 3rd vote. 1 & 2 are were easy. Clear winner, at least in my view.

Great stuff..

>> Are we allowed to share how we voted?

@MS-Domains -

My thoughts are sort of split...

- I like the strategy of individuals sharing their voting approach or selection technique on the thread, but am not so keen on individual's posting their personal selections as I feel it is viewed as lobbying.

- Sort of like when you go to vote in a local election. If asked, I don't mind sharing which topics are of concern to me with others as we go to vote, but I am not one to stand at the voting booth and shout out which candidate choices I personally voted for (as I feel that process or topic sharing is one thing, but direct candidate lobbying while in line at the voting booth for a specific choice is not so welcoming).

- I do recognize (similar to local public figure elections) that many are passionate about their choices and them sharing their personal choice outside of the voting area is fine by me. 1st amendment right and all that. But directly at the voting booth... I don't get a warm & fuzzy when it becomes candidate lobbying directly at the polls.

How - Yes.
Who - No.

I hope the differentiation makes sense and is a fair response. I am all in favor of knowledge sharing, but am not a fan of candidate lobbying.

Hi Cougar,

Understood! Thanks for the elaborate response.

Great contest and I submitted my votes which was hard because my favorites were left out. Find it incredibly interesting that two and even three generic words dominate this list with only a few actual what I consider brandables. Interesting to see how people’s taste runs. @BrandCougar handled everything like a gentleman and a scholar from start to finish. You are made for this 👍

The final list of domains presented a challenge to evaluate and was pleased to be able to cast three votes to help determine the eventual winner.

Best contest wishes to all contestants and Big Thanks to all entrants for the opportunity to view and consider your entry.

And Big Thanks too to BrandCougar for this intriguing thread and contest!

Basically voted for names that IF I was searching for " that topic " or was otherwise interested in that topic and saw those domain names, I would believe they very well represented their respective topic and I would click away to view their website.

Happy to have two entries in the final selection (SelfEffects / Stadir). Both clearly not in the race for top glory, but I'm satisfied with my participation overall. Several of my other entries got recognition from the panel as well. Learning and earning.

Glad I could contribute to the winners JackPot, and I wish everyone good luck.

I just noticed that NP decided to put the poll in the sidebar of the forum. The contest should get a lot more votes this way.

There should have been an option saying "none of the above"

Sorry, I did not vote because I really don't like any of the finaiists.

@mrm_1 -

Good news.

Eric Lyon (NamePros) responded to my DM this afternoon and as a site Admin was able to to make the correction of DuelLabs for us on the poll.

Thanks again for bringing it to my attention.

And.. Thanks @Eric Lyon for helping out!

It's great to see our Contest Poll get homepage visibility on NamePros.

First, huge thanks for @BrandCougar

Amazing example of community service!

Second, no need for negativity! No, it shouldn't have "none of the above". If it is that, just don't vote, as that option won't affect the winner anyway. No one expecting to find insurance.com in the hand reg. These are 20 that received the highest of the submitted and it is what it is! You don't like it, you should have shown your best one and maybe all would have agreed with you.
