Hi to all,

I’m Dragan and I coming from Split, Croatia. I am newbie in domain industry and I have very small knowledge and expertise in this industry. I try to sell couple domain names recently, but unfortunately I wasn’t successful.

I tried to sell this domains by the strategy contacting end buyers via e-mail.

I would like to learn pretty much everything about this industry but specifically I would like to learn best selling strategies.

Currentlly I possess 4 domain names which I trying to sell more than one month time by contacting end buyers via e-mail.

My short term goals in this year are to be able cover my basic life expenses, which is briefly 2000$ per month.

My long term goals are to became expert in this industry and be able to quit my 9-5 job.

My first domain name which I purchased is ShipSafetyEquipment.com, that was purchased for resell.

I start investing in domains because I saw that with this industry I can enter in a world of online entrpreneurships. I found one good blog regarding domaining and I get convinced that this can be very profitable business in which I want to take piece of pie.

I hope I will learn a lot in this community and I hope eventually I will be successful in reselling domains.

All best to all members and admins of this great community! Good luck to all!!

Hello @Ultrahustler and thanks for the nice introduction.
It takes some time to learn this business and to become profitable, so it's a great idea to keep your day job. Here's a good place to begin your eduction:

Hi J Sokol thank you very much for your advice and instructions. I'm aware that this will be longer journey and for now I will keep my job.
Once again thanks for warm welcome!

Hello Dragan .. and welcome to NamePros! :)

As @J Sokol already pointed out, even if most people think it is at first before they learn, domaining is not a get rich business .. there's a lot of learning and a lot of work (I hope it wasn't my blog that made you think it's easy? lol). Be careful with longer domains .. they aren't all bad, but usually shorter is better. If you're looking for specific feedback on your domains then check out the appraisals section. Anyhow .. definitely take some time to check out all the areas of NamePros .. then also check out some of the other blogs and podcasts .. tons of information everywhere! :)

Best of luck going forward! :)

Welcome to NPs @Ultrahustler. You will find lots of help here, as well as interesting and fund discussion.
I note that you mentioned this could be very profitable. While clearly a minority have managed to do very well by domains, keep in mind that for the vast majority making money from domains is a lot of hard work, usually very slow (typically any single domain name has a probability of selling about 1 per 100 per year - i.e. even if you have 50 domain names typically you would see one sale every second year0. Now that is a statistical number, and you can improve your chances by doing a great job finding names, get them at reasonable prices, price them right, get them noticed, etc. But please don't think (as some authors tell people) that making money from domains is easy, fast or assured..

I also note you mention this is a way to get into online business more generally, and I think that is very true.

I wish you all the best.

Bob
