While creating yet another "niche" portfolio of domains, I ran into something I didn't expect. A friend of mine publishes about a dozen successful magazines and one of his magazines is Savor Virginia...just go to SavorVa(.)com to get a feel for his work. btw, he has well over a hundred employees who are involved in his business. Somehow I picked up on the word "Savor", and started playing with how it might be a descriptive verb for a two word domain, thus names like; SavorFashion, SavorItalian, SavorManhattan, SavorSports etc. Then while researching other possibilities, I see another spelling of Savor, "Savour". At first I thought one of the spellings must be wrong, but it turns out it wasn't. "Savor" is used mostly in the US, and "Savour" is used mostly in the UK and Australia and Canada.

My purpose in starting this thread is twofold, first to encourage investor/domainers to hedge their bets by buying multiple domains in a "niche", and second how to discover the best domains/names available in that niche. Thus I checked to see if SavorSex was available, it wasn't:xf.frown:, however SavourSex is available at the moment. Cheers!

Comments and questions welcome(y)

Houston Elkhan, we have a problem! I realize most NP members reading won't understand, but you and I do:xf.wink:. I checked to see if SavorHouston.com was available to prove that I only invest in "crappy" domains. Guess what Elkan, there must be more than one investor that thinks like me. If you were to go to SavorHuston you'll the site is under construction.

Do you savor anything Elkhan? Before you answer, this might help you;

"Whether it's a feeling of joy or a piece of cheesecake — when you savor something, you enjoy it to the fullest. When you savor something, you enjoy it so much that you want to make it last forever. With that in mind, savor carries a connotation of doing something slowly.

When you really think about it, as humans we savor lots of things. A friend of mine owns BlueCrabSoftware similar to BlueOwlCreative. Seriously, you should check out SavorVa.com and the company behind it Vista Graphics. You might just learn something:xf.wink:

I know you SavorBulloney Elkin, but there is a cure for that....SavortheWeekend(y)

ps. there are still some pretty good Savor????.com domains available, and I'll be sharing some of my ideas about monetizing domains like SavorManhattan and SavorFashion for anyone interested.

Too funny Elkhan.....i don't know how you were raised, but from where I come from it's very impolite to ask another man how much he makes. I guess that's one of the reasons the domain industry is as screwed up as it is. I don't care how much you make, but you and your ilk berating me 24/7 about how much I make is not just unprofessional, but unethical as well.

Now back on topic...I know it's hard for you to understand this, but you might want to read this again;

"Whether it's a feeling of joy or a piece of cheesecake — when you savor something, you enjoy it to the fullest. When you savor something, you enjoy it so much that you want to make it last forever."

Among other things Elkhan, I savor success almost as much as I SavorGod:xf.wink:com

Never asked how much you make, and, frankly, don't care.

Results doesn't mean your income. Results mean the outcome of your idea.

Without verifiable results, what you right gets no credibility (almost as in incredible)...

Brad, Elkham and friends...i just noticed that most Savor domains combined with a local area code are available to register, thus Savor212O_ocom. fyi, 212 is the area code for NYC, and the most popular area code in the world. To understand where I'm coming from, google "what does it mean to savor something"? What's your passion? What do you Savor?......Fitness? Rome? Women? "Hoarders" and "Scalpers" need not apply.

I noticed almost all domains starting with qzxytr are available! That is huge opportunity! Guys, quick, check qzxytrNewYork, Houston etc. and register! Just think of the unlimited opportunities! I am meeting a main partner in large Architecture firm and will see if he'd be interested in qzxytrArchitects.com

Thanks mazkel...doing a little research on Savoury.com i learned it's for sale at Afternic for $39,800. Then when I checked to see who might own the name it led me to Que.com and King.net that's owned by Emil whose businesses are in Fairfax, Virginia just up the road from me.

Go to the site Que.com and you'll understand what I'm referring to. I checked to see if Savoury.uk or Savoury.ca were available and no luck. Then i tried SavouryCa.com and it was available, but I didn't buy it.

I see where you've been around this game for over 10 years and I'm guessing you've done pretty well. While i'm a little late to the game, names like SavorGames.com have huge potential especially when you're just paying $9 for them.

Thanks for sharing your experience....i have an email into the owner of Savoury.com, and if something were to materialize, I'll gladly share the results(y) Cheers!

ps. I'm a little curious how you came by the name, but if you'd rather not say, that's fine.

Elkham...initially I wasn't going to respond to your post, but I thought it rather poignant to use this opportunity to share how I come up with some of the "second word" nouns that best compliment the verb Savor. Being that today is April Fools Day your example got me to thinking about fools, and how your example "qzxytrArchitects" might compare to "SavorFools". First, "SavorFools" has just 10 letters and "qzxytrArchitects" has sixteen letters. Second, "SavorFools" according to GD's analysis is a memorable domain and valued at $1,166, and "qzxytrArchitects" is a uncommon name valued at $106 that GD says only a fool could create:xf.eek: btw Elkham, I passed on "SavorFools", but it's a domain you might want to consider over "qzxytrArchitects"

Actually according to GD they both have one redeeming quality, they both share the popular .com extension(n)

Now for a lesson on how I come up with some "second word" nouns that compliment my "crappy domains". Lets take "fools" for example. After researching "fools" plural of the word "fool", I learned there's a fool born every minute. Webster defines fool as; a person lacking in judgment or prudence, then it goes on to share the following synonyms; idiot, ass, halfwit, nincompoop, blockhead, buffoon, dunce, dolt, ignoramous, cretin, imbecile, dullard, moron, and simpleton. Furthermore I learned there's a little "fool" in each and every one of us:xf.wink:

Seriously, in the case of "second word" nouns that follow the verb Savor, I generally choose nouns that tens of million of people can relate to like; SavorFashion, SavorParis, SavorFamily, SavorWomen, SavorGolf, SavorLove and the list goes on.

Lately, and while this is most popular in America, I SavorMarchMadness. Ironically one of my favorite members Josh Reason SavorsAuburnTigers. Josh owns Brand Consultants and graduated Auburn University in 2014. I know Josh doesn't think much of me or my style, but I admire him from afar. Not just because he has a pretty cool website BrandConsultants.com, but he's obviously smart, and he played four years of tennis as an All American on Auburns National Championship tennis team. That's really cool in my book. Also as an fyi, Auburn advanced to what is called the "Final Four" in March Madness for the first time in their history to play the University of Virginia Cavaliers (my pick) next Saturday.

Finally, for the record I SavorSports:xf.wink: I SavorGolf and I SavorWomen. What do you Savor?

I am not surprised you are celebrating fools day, after all, it must be important to you and others like you :)

Now to savor: you might not realize this, but savor is a verb and verbs make bad partners in 2 word combos, unless it is something like buy
,go etc. with another strong word that makes sense.

But then again, guys that celebrate April 1 might have hard time understanding it. Enjoy!

Wow Elkham....you fell for that hook, line and sinker:xf.wink: Savor can be a transitive or intransitive verb, or it can be a noun. I won't bother explaining to you in what context most of my Savor domains are in, because you certainly wouldn't understand. With the Houston Astros being in your town I'm sure there's someone around Houston who might SavorBaseball or SavortheAstros. If you majored in linguistics, you might notice the subtle difference.

You may want to give it a rest and go out and get yourself a new AffoldablePhoneâ„¢ before they're gone. I just wish for your sake you weren't so hooked on me:xf.rolleyes:

Oh, you are welcome! It is called "Charitable Hook". Basically, I donate my time for guys like you to feel good and important about themselves. But the intention never was to get you carried away.

Oh Elkham, i felt "good and important about myself" long before you came around. That said, you evoke and motivate me to create never before registered domains like; SavortheMoment and SavortheMind:xf.wink:com. Actually the crappy domain SavortheMoment was registered, and is for sale for $4,000 at Afternic, so I got to thinking how "The Mind is a terrible thing to waste", thus SavortheMind:xf.wink:com.

Keep hurling your insults Elkham, they're really appreciated:xf.grin:

I'm actually meeting with the guy who owns Savoury.com next week. As an FYI I just purchased SavorSpeed .com to go along with DomainAutobahn.com "Savor speed" was the first thing that came to mind as soon as I registered DomainAutobahn:xf.smile:

Elkham and Brad..i just luv the fact you've targeted me to bring out the best I can be. I've savored our relationship so much I just registered SavorDomains(.)com to go with DomainEthics(.)com just for you guys.
It's a pity that names like SavorHouston, SavorTexas and SavorIndiana are already taken, but that's what "hoarding" does:xf.sick:.

However, because I savor/savour things like Victory, Success, Pasta, Speed, Luxury, Manhattan, Green,
and Freedom, it makes me wonder what you guys Savor? Like Thomas said at The Last Supper, "is it I My Lord"? Thanks for the entertainment:xf.wink:
