Mine is Schey.com.
It's 24 years old. I regret buying it as it has a vulgar meaning in some region and many people were laughing at me because of it. I regret since I didn't search for its meaning before ordering it.

A misspell, felt like an idiot and couldn't refund

@vanvinh You better block the Urban Dictionary from appearing in the search results altogether.

vodaddy.com 2004 - It got no typo/typin traffic so I dropped it. Regged on Godaddy.com :xf.grin:

I see some other goober owns it now.

Heatguns.net. I paid over $300 USD at GoDaddy Auctions if I remember rightly. What a total waste of money :wtf:

Nothing critical, but -

1. A few typos/misspells... noticed after the purchases - on categorization step

2. (when I started domaining) - some obvious TMs which I did not recognize as such. If you live outside U.S. you may simply be unaware that lets say "starbucks" is an American coffee company if they are not presented in your country. Had to learn how to check TMs in US/EU at least :)

Technically, a regretful purchase would be of a domain subsequently lost in UDRP unfairly.

No incoming offers and I haven't offered to anyone actually. I'd be happy to sell it.

I don't really regret any of my purchases/investments. Sure, I lost money on most, gained some on others, and developed brands out of the rest, but each one, even the complete losses, were educational.

What I know now is because of those mistakes.

I suppose if I had to pick 1 though, it would be choosing the .ws over the .com for my very first investment in 2005. It took 6 to 12 months for me to grab the .com and push the brand forward.

I still don't regret it though. It was an interesting learning experience back then.

The industry has changed a lot since then though. We didn't have the new gtld craze back then.

I would imagine, way more mistakes are made now days, with more options, than when I first started.

Heck, I still make mistakes in a constantly evolving industry, 14 years later.

Regret 1 or 2 when i first started out. Not because i don’t think they aren’t good names and can’t make a profit. It’s just i may have overpaid and didn’t really need to do it.

Not going to say which domains as i still need to sell them.

But as Eric above says, you make mistakes and learn from them.

I don’t think anyone will have made 100% fantastic buys.

Good job really, what with the TM implications.

I regret not thinking beyond my customers needs and the companies I worked for 15 or so years ago when I was registering domain names for others and not for myself.
