STADIA - New Gaming System!

Spaceship Spaceship

Apparently there's a new cloud gaming system, Stadia, that is supposed to be releasing that's supposed to be better than Playstation and XBox. Have y'all acquired names?

StadiaTechnology.com is a really good domain. I was looking at Google's Stadia developing website, Stadia.dev

LOL looks like ~20 of my domains were mentioned here. That's about all I grabbed. A lot of salty folks besides @namesquare. I gladly hold the best ones on your list, am developing a few and will see what happens with the others.

Google is going to want to promote their platform as much as possible. As mentioned, I am developing a few of them. And I have every right to hold stadiasharing.com, stadiaanime.com, stadiaracing.com, etc., in hopes of ever turning them into a community. A game listing, reviewing, discussion site based on certain genres, sharing screenshots or videos, etc. Or selling them if I want.

And I've already developed one at https://sharestadia.com

Either way. Stay mad. :blackalien:
Wow, ShareStadia.com is a really nice website. Nicely done! I was reading a bunch of articles on your website. Very interesting! Thanks for sharing. I bookmarked the site. I love it.

Thanks man. I paid someone to help me with some of the blogs. I design and develop websites, so I did all that in about 3 days. Took some time but well worth it. Thanks for bookmarking!!

Wow! That's quite impressive to have all of that done in only 3 days. I am really excited to see the changes that will happen to your website in the coming weeks. I really like the layout and scheme of the website too. I feel like there's so much to discuss with this new technology, I am very intrigued to see what more will be released. This tech will be a total game changer.

Anyone have any Stadia domains that predate Google's TM filing date, those ones would be interesting to see?

StadiaGroup.com is a great domain! I wish I can afford it.

Yes, 1 bid, good time to sell it also, into the hype for sure.

Wow! Someone else is launching a Stadia website called StadiaTalk.com
Really nice logo and looks quite interesting.

Yeah, I saw that too. That's one of the ones I wanted -- I was going to create a forum with it.

On a side note, these were more than just a domain grab to me, unlike most people. I actually have all 24 of my domains online, with a nice looking Stadia-themed website. Along with a Facebook, Twitter and social wall feed displaying real-time discussions on Stadia across social networks. Plus the other ones I'm developing, or have plans to develop.

I've been a gamer my entire life, and it so just happens a web designer and developer for 15 years. First time in my life I've heard about a major revolution in gaming, with an actual interest and expectations of its success, and a possibility to grab awesome domains for. Why wouldn't I register them? If I didn't, someone else would already have them. :)

At least they're not just sitting parked like most good domains that people snatch up. That's what the real bullshit is.

I doubt this will go away anytime soon. It's still very fresh and will all be a complete game changer. Most domainers are hopeful their domains sell. Individuals registering misspelled words, grammically incorrect phrases, IDN, and meaningless jiggberish. I've seen the most ridiculous domains registered. These are more meaningful and will be used for very cool things. One perfect example is http://www.sharestadia.com

Right. It's active now and Stadia hasn't even launched yet. Pretty sure PS and Xbox are still being talked about on a daily basis by the millions?

And who really cares if this thread fades? Nobody was here to have an ongoing discussion on Stadia domain names in the first place, I don't think? Lol. I'd be a bit bitter too if I didn't follow technology and know enough to grab them. Tell me you wouldn't want a premium PS4 or Xbox domain name? After all, you're on NamePros -- so I already know that answer.

Exactly, and if you check, any "Stadia" names worth registering were gone a while back. Its just the same frenzy you get when people are late to the game. We see the same with almost every niche. Dont go crazy with these names.

Be sensible people and listen to Elliot Silver (https://domaininvesting.com/buying-stadia-or-other-new-tm-domains-makes-no-sense-to-me/)
Google will not come knocking on your door, dont you think they would have grabbed them if they wanted them. Google already registered the names the wanted and these are just defensive registrations.

But who said anything about trying to sell them to Google? I get your point, but I guess that's what you're not understanding as well. I already have instant traffic (and a lot of it) and people aren't even playing on the platform yet.

By the way, those are some nice ones in your signature.

That sure is a great article if you registered a whole bunch of crap domains -- just as he mentions in his post. We're talking about top level .coms that relate to it and gaming.

And again, Stadia is not trademarked.

Also, with Google Stadia's 'State Share' feature:
"The game's state will be encoded in a link that tells Stadia where to pick up the game at a specific moment in time. This link can then be sent to any number of players who can click on it and instantly hop into the game at the point it was shared."

How can stadia[genre].com -- and possibly dev a site loaded with shares where a user can jump into any game, even as their favorite player with all that person's shit, instantly -- not be something worthwhile to own?

I see it as opportunity my friend. How are those parked domains doing that are just sitting for sale? :)

600 unique visits in 6 days says otherwise. Half the people that will be using it probably haven't even heard about or Googled it yet.

@Hireinternet This will be the talk for quite some time. I doubt this will fade anytime soon. It's very hot and it hasn't even been released.

Interesting article; however, just because some guy shares his 'opinion' in an article doesn't make it absolute, nor does it make it law. Is it really domain-squatting when websites, such as http://www.sharestadia.com, are popping up by die-hard #gamers, excited and eager for an immersive game-changing experience? #punintended .As @PE-Steve said in his earlier post, many domainers are quite salty they were late. Realistically, most basic words and phrases are infringing on a company if you want to get technical. I have the domain PieintheSky.com, do you realize how popular this phrase is, and how many businesses there are using this phrase and variations? Google "Pie in the Sky."

I highly doubt Google is looking to acquire hundreds of more 'stadia' domains and variations. If they did, they would have registered them long before the release date. Google has a huge team of experts and would not miss the opportunity to grab something hot, if they wanted to. If they did not acquire it early on, it was not important to them. There are much more important matters to tend to in the realm of tech. I stand firm with what I said about millions of die-hard gamers worldwide and their excitement for anything and everything immersive, realistic, innovativative, that will bring them great excitement and entertainment. Articles will be written, clubs and clans will be created, tournaments and expo events will be formed, discussion threads of many types will be created, affiliate networks will be popping up, stores and repair shops will be popping up, developers will need portfolios. There's a number of reasons why someone could use a quality 'stadia' domain.

What's happening is salty folk are cherry-picking what they deem is 'appropriate,' but realistically, most domainers we good domains, would be considered 'squatting' on domains. I suppose all companies with the name 'Pie in the Sky' could make claims too. A real domainer would never be bullied, scared, or coerced into giving up their domains, particularly from an email, C&D, or a phone call. Imagine how many infringing claims easy and valuable domains, such as sex.com or food.com, would have. Over the years, laws change, importance and relevance, niches, and more. Who cares if there was a frenzy in acquiring 'stadia' and related 'gaming' domains. People are excited, particularly gamers and live streamers. The market for quality Stadia domains will be huge.

With regard to PPC monetization claim in the article, this is 100% out of the control of domainers that registered certain domains, just like is was out of control of the Church that received a sudden increase of traffic on their @stadia Twitter handle (read more: https://www.faithwire.com/2019/03/2...-planting-network-stadia-a-huge-helping-hand/). This is also common when certain brands release new products and models, sometimes sharing the same name as an individual or brand, get a sudden spike in web traffic, emails, and social media followers. We've been down this road and discussed this.

Finally, it's great to see articles popping up sharing their thoughts and opinions about the new 'stadia' network and domains. That's pretty awesome. We started something cool. This is where it was born. This is the first place it was spoke about through the Internet. @Hireinternet, no slowing down for this anytime soon :-P

After reading this article, it would seem the individual that wrote article related to 'stadia' domains peeped through this thread and came up with his own probable conclusions. He's not really focused on the excitement of the new gaming network and the loads of gamers and domainers eager to be involved, but rather, scaring domainers -- the consequences with registering trademark names.

We have seen the ol "haters gonna hate" meme a thousand times on here, I guarantee you that in 12 months time, you will still own all (or at least 95%) of your stadia names and in 3 -5 years time, you will start letting them expire. You might develop the odd name and make a little $$$ out of it, but long term, then names will all expire and you will lose money on them. Its been tried so many times, if you want some links, let me know. Mark my words and remember this thread.

Finally, it's great to see articles popping up sharing their thoughts and opinions about the new 'stadia' network and domains.
Try and find some positive articles though, in particular articles about stadia domain are making money, sales or development.
