Estibot says 8k.

Any other opinions? Cheers!

I think you will not find a lot of reported sales for torrent domains.
The reason is quite simple: the torrent sites feature copyrighted materials and it's only a matter of time until they are shut down. Some rotate their domain names often (Piratebay is a good example).
So who is going to invest serious money in a domain name that has a short shelf life ? A disposable item.

I agree that torrents are often related to illegally acquired material, but you can't deny that the traffic/demand for those websites is substantial. It's also not hard to work around the rules for torrents (no hosting copyrighted material, no promoting illegal downloads and so on...) and monetize that traffic "legally".

When I bought this domain I didn't do it because I plan to sell it, I can think of at least 3 ideas to monetize it that have relation to torrents. The simplest one being a blog about said torrents. It's completely legal to talk about that market, discuss tips and software solutions, and so on.. I just wanted to get more people's opinion about how valuable is the dot mx extension for it.

It's not because something is illegal that it means it won't attract entities willing to spend money for it. I'd even argue the opposite. Look at bitcoin of 2015-2017 and what were its uses. You can imagine the contrast in price of those domains back then vs now.

It's a good domain for the genre. But since you just said you have no plan to sell it, no use in an appraisal.

But Namebio shows a few sales for torrent.[TLD].

https://namebio.com/?s==MTM0MDO5AjM

IMHO, given those sales, $500 at the most.

I said I don't plan to sell it means I would rather build my own idea than let this website go for cheap, but for the right price I could reconsider. I thought it was obvious that everyone has a price.

I still see .ws that sold for 2k in that list, so it's still a bit odd, but thanks for your appraisal!
