The sad part about these political threads is that you end up having to put on Ignore someone who beforehand was someone that you didn't really think about one way or another.

There are no winners.

At least stick around and ad some educated insight. You are well educated, experienced guy- anybody that went through the mess of getting into law school, graduating and forming a practice, is not very usual. I saw your debate with the other Lawyer here and found it interesting really.

Name calling and personal attacks of other participants though is where this thread gets derailed. I am guilty of it too, but attempt to refrain from that- I made a mistake yesterday and deleted it btw.

Sad people. Glen Greenwald is a complete liberal and heavily left leaning. I would agree with him on very little. Yet, he is one of the few honest journalists working today. Which means the left will throw him under the bus.

People support a treasonous and secretive campaign to unseat a democratically elected president, and then have the nerve to call the president the traitor.

There is no reasoning with this growing support for fascism, and the US will drag much of the world down with it. And when it does happen, the very people who caused it will be sure to blame someone else. Russians, I guess.

This is really just a place for venting. Nobody is going to change their mind here. People who consider themselves enlightened have essentially decided they have no more to learn. So they hector others, and declare class enemies on those who don't bow down. I would post more pictures from the Cultural Revolution, but what's the point?

New Zealand Music Festival Evacuated Because Someone Claimed Another Attendee Had a ‘Right Wing’ Tattoo
Approximately 5,000 concertgoers were evacuated from the Homegrown Music Festival in New Zealand because someone thought they saw a “right-wing tattoo” on an attendee.

The 28-minute long evacuation took place on Saturday evening, just before a scheduled moment of silence for the massacre victims.

Police were alerted when festival crew members spotted someone with a tattoo that they believed to be linked to “far right ideology.”

“The person was found and it turned out that is was a completely innocent misunderstanding and everyone was allowed to return,” Wright said. “It all turned out good but it was unfortunate that it happened and people were inconvenienced.”

And @lennco disliking a meme that isn't awful, vulgar or truly bad thing that I timed to be a joke- seems quite juvenile. Until I confronted you about the trailer park in Downey joke thing, I don't think I ever got a dislike. You said everybody that supported the President was POS if I recall., Then I told you what I thought, then you reported it. All unnecessary.

We always hear that New Zealand has 5 sheep for every person. Obviously the number is much higher. They have already banned numerous URLs that are clearly not hate sites. The largest book seller also banned Jordon Peterson's books "to protect their customers". No outcry, because they just had a tragedy and, well....baaaaah. Never waste a crisis...who said that?

Worth pointing out that Barr came into this with preformed opinions on obstruction, as evidenced by this unsolicited letter to Rosenstein a year ago.
https://int.nyt.com/data/documenthe...j-mue/b4c05e39318dd2d136b3/optimized/full.pdf

There’s no way, given the opportunity, that he would find for obstruction regardless of the evidence.

The American people paid for this report, we should be allowed to see it in its entirety. To not do so is damaging to the country as it puts the appearance of political motive over Barr’s decision.

From https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2018/09/03/glenn-greenwald-the-bane-of-their-resistance

“On one level, I agree,” he said. “It’s great that people like Paul Manafort are finally being held accountable for their sleazy K Street practices, and their money laundering and all of that.” He talks fast, and often at a volume suited to a poor Skype connection. “But I really don’t think it’s about justice. I think the people who are doing this are genuinely offended by the entire Trump circle, in part for political and ideological reasons, and in part because he has broken all of the rules of their world, in terms of who gets to be in power, and what you have to do to get it.” He went on, “They’re just using the law as a political weapon against Trump, just as Brazilian élites are using it against Lula.” He was referring to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the leftist former President, who had just begun a prison term for corruption and money laundering.

Greenwald told me, “I don’t think that, once Trump leaves office, we’re going to have a revolution in law where rich and powerful people are going to be held accountable in the way that poor people are.” Trump is a criminal, he said, surrounded by “fifth-tier grifters” who, under normal circumstances, would be “generating PowerPoints to defraud pensioners.” But most public expressions of distress about corruption in Trump’s circle struck him as a “pretense.” He said, “The people who hate Trump the most are the people who have been running Washington for decades. It’s not so much that they’re bothered by his corruption—they’re bothered by his inability to prettify and mask it.” Greenwald then made an analogy that placed a Trump associate like Manafort in the unexpected role of a racial-bias victim: “Let’s say there’s a city where drivers are driving recklessly, and lots of people are being killed because of it. And the police department decides that, from now on, if we see any black drivers speeding, we’re going to give them a ticket, but we’re going to let white drivers continue to speed with impunity.”

They also are very discriminatory on retirement immigration- $900K cash is needed in their country at some social or economic thing if I recall. I guess only rich people are allowed there. The investment funds cannot be touched as I recall, not going to look it up again, but what a joke- it's like the highest income level place I have ever read about for immigration. Censorship + Income discrimination, great country alright.

"The Bottom Line
The financial requirements for temporary visas are notably high: Depending on the exchange rate, you need more than $900,000 in investments and maintenance funds to retire in New Zealand, not counting the additional requirement of more than $43,000 in annual income. You’ll likely need more than the required assets and sources of income (including Social Security), to make it work. All the same, while it’s expensive to get your foot in the door, once you’re in New Zealand, the cost of living is comparable to (or cheaper than) many places in the U.S."

Rich people are flooding in, but with that flaky government, I don't know how wise the investment might be. I was surprised at some the very cheap land available there, mostly in remote locations but otherwise very nice. Also, those areas might not be all that safe from petty crime and violence. There is a definite underclass in the country and a lot of gangs for a country that has so much for so few people.

I sometimes try to think what would be a relatively stable place to live in the near future. Hard to find any. Ironically, a lot of people I know with money are investing in Africa now - they have all the growth potential. For security though.... I think some of the countries that survive and prosper may surprise us.

Africa has always had growth potential because there is still so much that needs to be done there. Problem is that you can have everything taken from you without compensation from one day to the other, as has happened in so many countries there, like Zimbabwe and now South Africa. The Chinese are all over Africa in full force taking advantage of all those easily corruptible governments, or should I say ... dictators.

The inflation rate got so high, that this 100 trillion Zimbabwe dollar could buy you a loaf of bread!
71j-2%2B22P%2BL._SX355_.jpg

BTW, when the Rhodesia (which became Zimbabwe later) dollar first came out it was the same value of the US dollar... so that gives you an idea of the hyper inflation that printing money indiscriminately can do.

Good news for all sides of the isle.

Great news!
Except that wiping out their territory won’t wipe out the ideology. They’ll just regroup, recruit, and continue business as usual. Someplace else.

Unlike the US which has no such qualifications- anyone is welcome- no discrimination based on age, health, net worth, skills, productivity, attitude, etc.

Just show up at San Ysidro and claim " ¡Tengo miedo!" "¡Voy a morir!", "¡Estoy embarazado, donde esta es el hospital !" "¡ Amenazaron nosotros ! ".

Immigration Officer: Ok, ¡pase adelante! No hay problema!

Agreed 100%
Unfortunately they have already penetrated several countries with weak immigration laws and business has never been better for them. We have to face the issue before we can deal with the spread of this ideology.

They need to learn from Brazil and Argentina. Just keep whacking off the last 3 zeros and changing the name.

Those zeroes make it tough. In Vietnam, one is always dealing with 10s of millions of dong for basic transactions. Pretty easy to misread a banknote and end up paying 10 times what you meant to pay.

They did that, but the inflation was so rampant and out of control that they just stopped printing money when the IMF forced them to use $US, EUROS and the S. African RAND, because Robert Mugabe, their President and his henchmen had no clue how to run a country. They thought that printing money as fast as they could, was the way to do it

All they did was destroy that countries economy, yet they were smart enough to siphon the countries resources into their Swiss and other foreign bank accounts, while blaming the colonialists for their countries problems.

That 100 billion dollar note was the last one they printed. Zimbabwe is a case study on how to destroy a once prosperous country and turn it into a sh+t hole in just 20 years and now the South African government wants to follow the same mistake by illegally taking the property from the white population without compensation. No fu'king brains! They're gonna shoot themselves in their foot, but first they are openly advocating killing the whites!

This video explains it very well...

10s of millions sure is complicated... now try and imagine billions, trillions, quadrillions or whatever illions comes after... like this check.
