Hi guys...

Let's play a small game. There are 3 questions each of us answer:

1) What is your best domain?
2) How much do you think it is worth?
3) Why do you think it would fetch you that amount?

The idea here is to remove the biases that we all have towards the domain name that we own.
I have been overly optimistic about many of the domain names that I owned, and that gives a false picture when we approach an end user or an end user approaches us. Ultimately, we end up losing a sale which could have fetched up, say mid xxx to low xxxx or maybe more.

So yeah, lets go ahead! Be a sport! Participate! And let's learn together!

It is all delusional stuff, much like the person putting name up for auction then claiming they secretly got a much higher offer when the price was nowhere near what they said.

I normally try not to feed the trolls. But in this case, I need to make an exception as I really feel he has gone too far. Questioning my integrity as a domainer and a human being on a public forum does not sit well with me.

So "johnnie018", why not put your money where your mouth is?

I have $100 on the table saying that I will sell 777.co within 3 months from now for more than $8000.

Conditions:
1. Proof of sale of domain 777.co be listed on DNJournal and/or Namebio.com
2. Sale to be concluded by 23 June 2019.

If the above conditions are met, you will pay me $100 via paypal and publicly apologize here on NamePros and state that you know nothing about domaining, if not, I will pay you $100 via paypal and state that I know nothing about domaining.

So what do you say? Up for the challenge?

I see your status is now "restricted", which I am not too surprised by. So if you are able to read this message and not respond, please respond to me on [email protected].

1) Nattlivet.se - Generic term = 'Nightlife The' (The Nightlife), the correct form for Nightlife in Swedish.
2) At the moment about $2M but I am not going to sell it. Yes have been offered.
3) The market is worth Billions and in Sweden we are not afraid to charge for products or to pay for them. Our nightlife is in the cities and on the Baltic. Companies don't gravitate towards branch mispellings. In Sweden you have to serve food in order to be able to serve beer. So lunch is the day business and Nattlivet is the night business. They make more money at night time.

As a native Norwegian I salute your optimism. But lets be honest, $2M is a crazy amount of money for a domain like that. We use the same phrase in Norwegian and "nattlivet.no" is available for regfee!

Tack.

That was actually for the entire project so far price that I meant. There is a lot more to the project than the site. Hundreds of branch oriented facebook groups with 100k+ restaurant owners and staff. This is a lot of work that takes a long time to accomplish.

I have been building other companies online sales platforms for years and watching them turnover 300M sek + online (Say $30M USD), worked on dating sites (Daters with jobs in Sweden join every site). I think I am more than qualified to know the market value. The Nightlife industry is much more.

Another important factor is that things are much more expensive in Sweden than in the USA. That includes most things. Norway is even more expensive.

So I am not trying to tell you how things work in the USA because I am not there, but here it's expensive. Come and have a vacation and bring a lot of money.

That's my price anyway and I am the current owner, and like all of you with your assets, I determine the price that I am willing to sell for.

This thread is great.

It puts the industry into perspective and alot of newbies should pay close attention.

This is not a get rich quick scheme, and Im sorry to say a HUGE majority are in it for just that.

If you look at 90% of these names, most are hand-regged with the pipe dreams of big money.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news....but its not going to happen.

It takes time (years), money, research, patience, and skill to get to a certain level.

The only real money names I see in this thread is from veteran domainers who worked hard for years.

If your in it for the quick buck, do yourself a favor a find another hobby.

The credit card will max out quickly in this game.

Sorry for the harsh words....but its reality.

Nattlivet.se is the generic term for nightlife in this country. That makes it worth more than 2M on it's own.
This is a decent name but not a superpremium. It's not worth 2M for the simple reason that no domains in .se command such prices.
tv.se is pretty much the record at 250K when the LL.se were released a few years ago and it's not an ordinary LL.

The site looks empty at the moment so it is more like a glorified blog. The business idea is not worth $2M. When it gets a lot of traffic and advertising revenue then you'll have a business. Best of luck with your development efforts.

But I think it is important to keep expectations reasonable, even when you own good names.

I don't know where the disconnect is within this thread, but with all the knowledge on namepros for free, how can people be getting this so wrong.

So let's start with Nattlivet.se the site looks like a $19 ebay template, all 0's at the bottom, facebook page has 26 followers last post Dec 16, 2018, and the one before that Nov 2, 2018, I fail to see the enterprise value of a social site that has a posting every 6 weeks, and hasn't had one in the past 3 months?

Ever check out NightLife.com it has been parked for over a decade, no takers, yet you can extract $2M from something that has 5 Facebook postings for all of 2018? No actual real content? Your twitter has 1 post, with 1 like? Talking offers is one thing, when someone has to sign off on that amount in a real deal we are talking a very different scenario.

Nightlife.com

Where is that place that I as a bar, restaurant, club owner am putting my hard earned cash to advertise for guests in my city? Where is Nightlife? Answer me?

I have bars and restaurants as customers since way back. They won't advertise on Nightlife.com but they are definately going to advertise on Nattlivet.se because that is their business, their trade, their income source. See drop down lists for cities. Works with geolocation as well.

Do you really expect Swedes to go "I wonder what we should do tonight? Oh yeah. Nightlife.com!", Maybe they will get lucky with Dallas.org. I thought you people understood what domain names were for.

Maybe that's why my Walmart.se isn't working. Oh yeah we don't even have walmart!

Get the difference? Nattlivet.se is for Sweden. Nobody in the USA can probably afford the name Nightlife.com now in order to develop it with names of states and then cities like I am doing for Sweden.

Yes it's under development. Thor didn't just land it with a complete site. That's what development is about.

I am a developer. The customer you look for. Maybe if you listened you would sell your domains.

Yes it was a handreg that everybody missed. But not me... and for foreign guests it is in english and called SwedishNightLife.com. Use the language change buttons.

I have future customers contacting me all the time from the facebook page. They want to know when they can register or if I can add them.

Stick to domaining you guys. You know nothing about product and site development. Magicians don't magically create online businesses and apps etc. Developers do.

None of your domains are worth 1 cent without there being a potential for a developer/customer/end user to pick them up at some stage and use it for something. And you can't even respect an established experienced developer giving you feedback.

I am a developer and new to domaining but I know what sells and rings bells.

Another nice thread @Arpit131 (y)

GRO in king
Low 7 figs.
It can be used for any and many purposes. Like Cannabis, sports, education, data, banking, gardening, bio, etc.

My most favorite name from your portfolio..

What a great positive multi meaningful name.

Very rarely some brand name covers various aspects. Lots of Brand names are niche specific. But this one is rare of the rare category and open for lots of current companies and many more future new start ups.

History of Brand Names getting shorter and shorter over period of time. Short, Sweet, and meaningful names has great presence and super bright future.

I think that is enough for now. Hahaahahaha. I don't want to write full essay on it which is possible for sure.

Best of luck dear friend Abdul Basit. You will definitely get your expected price sooner or later. You already a good patience player which definitely require in this gem.

Thanks

Interesting thread.
My most valuable (pending legalisation in USA which would then lead to China naturally) would be

- da/ma/you in king which is cannabis oil in Chinese pinyin
- pretty much not for sale ATM, but if legalisation in China happens low xxx, xxx, but if they manage to find out that it cures many illnesses (cancer included) high xxx,xxx low 7 figs
- so as you can see many variables in play

Hope I nailed my valuation? China is a huge market and knowing the Chinese they’re gonna go crazy for anything health related (they go cray cray over baby formula to onsell in Australia)

Regards

so let's get this straight.you have a cash offer of $2,000,000 USD for the domain only, nattlivet.se,is this correct?
You need to read it again.

It is a site with a couple of old blog posts, term isn’t very popular is Sweden and the development doesn’t add anything.
Yeah that's right Johnnie. We'll leave it at that for now.

People like you trolling are the reason I won't be renewing my membership here. -$100/year for the namepros business. I thought this was a professional forum not a place for trolls. You're turning a good place into a dingy back street pub with lippy louts. I don't associate with people like that.

You're bad for business. That's my professional opinion.
