On Sedo when you view your domains, one of the things you can do is view the "Offer/Views" column to see how many times people viewed each of your domains each month. Usually the number is quite low for your whole portfolio and only a small group might show multiple views.

Last night it looks like the "offer/views" went up by 1 for about 90% of my portfolio. That is hundreds of single views each. Does anyone else see the same thing for their portfolio ?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
no not here..

so somebody viewed about 90% of your profile, at least once, right?

Yes, looks like about 700 domains. I dont list everything there, but thats most of my portfolio.
All were viewed in the past 24 hours as I check every morning.

No, no auctions or changes in past several days at least. Its exactly one view each. Very weird.

Maybe someone was playing around with a scraper to go through portfolios. That's my only guess. I don't park at Sedo so I can't confirm

I can confirm same thing on my portfolio. Every name has +1 view since yesterday. Probably some bot crawled all Sedo pages?

Well this sucks. I hope it doesnt become a regular thing or stats will become useless like so many other platforms.

I haven't...maybe a bot is crawling names?
My thoughts as well. Could be a bot crawling names and building a list of domain names with BIN prices.

It could even be me.

Mine too but not all of them, about 100 names visited by 1 visitor in one day.

It happened again. This time around half of my portfolio got +1 view :xf.frown: Anyone else?
Kate please, not cool... :xf.grin:

I did not experience it with mine. But I do not use their parking - do you?
I presume that most of the time the .bots don't get counted at Sedo? (or am I wrong?)
Do aggregators sites like Dofo actually crawl to get info, or do they get them directly from Sedo?
Do you have links to the specific Sedo listings from your own website? (I expect not with that many names to manage). If so, it is possible that someone crawled your site and went to Sedo listing from the links. I have found that.

Same thing happened with me. About 80% of my names got +1 offer views, and then the same thing happened again yesterday I believe. Few days in between.

I just have them listed, not parked. And very few with BIN, so it got to be a creepy bot doing it's business.

I got 1 new view for domains starting with G and H. This is is annoying.

@Bob Hawkes it's about "offer view", not parking. My names are not parked at Sedo, don't know how these stats works. It's usually 0 views monthly for majority of my domains so you can clearly see "real" visitor offer clicks. Now it's a bit messed up. No big deal but I hope it will not become a normal thing.

I once found one hit on every domain containing 3d and when I mentioned it here someone else had the same. So yes, I do believe scraping goes on.

I have got a lot more hits on individual sales listings pages lately where there are no hits on the parking page .Maybe those domains are getting more popular, but to get to that individual page without hitting the parking/landing page you have to get there via Sedo search or an affiliate link from a Sedo partner. Or via a script. Maybe Sedo's presence on affiliate sites has improved.

Some domains I had forwarded direct to the individual listing on Sedo and they got a lot of traffic, then when I moved them to Undeveloped there Google Analytics showed very low traffic. Also shifting some domains from Sedo lander/parking page to forwarding direct to the individual Sedo listing showed an increase in traffic. So I would guess for some reason the individual listing pages on Sedo are less good at filtering bot traffic.

Well, Sedo stats are quickly becoming worthless and the scrapers hit again last night. One view on all of my .COM domains that start with A through H. Whats the point of watching stats when bots, scrapers and who knows what constantly inflate the numbers.

Its like seeing your views on Undeveloped go up 150 a day for your portfolio, but using Google Analytics you see that 95% of them are coming from the same 15 or 20 locations every day.

This sucks.

No inflated numbers for me today but yesterday it was also for domains starting with A to H. :)

Just happened again. 1 view each for about 150 names. >:(

Looks like this bot or bots visited all my names containing either of two keywords on Sedo yesterday.
