discuss What's your best domain worth?

Hi guys...

Let's play a small game. There are 3 questions each of us answer:

1) What is your best domain?
2) How much do you think it is worth?
3) Why do you think it would fetch you that amount?

The idea here is to remove the biases that we all have towards the domain name that we own.
I have been overly optimistic about many of the domain names that I owned, and that gives a false picture when we approach an end user or an end user approaches us. Ultimately, we end up losing a sale which could have fetched up, say mid xxx to low xxxx or maybe more.

So yeah, lets go ahead! Be a sport! Participate! And let's learn together!

Ok name but the term is only small, type of name that might have 1% chance of getting that price in a year. The asking price is too high if you want sale any time soon.

Clueless (at least in this point) are definitely those, who think they are criticizing a bad domain name while not knowing / realizing that in fact they are criticizing the ultimate top domain nameee

I think @Kate is right though...

You're being asked to come up with the very best name in your portfolio. What's the one trophy that you're most proud of? Most (not everyone...more than half though)... are posting what can only be described as junk.

Some people need tough love... if that's the best name you can come up with, you need to rethink what you're doing. ("you" being the unnamed individual with the crappy name)

Also every name in this thread has lots of alternates (even gro.com), so make sure you are pricing names to sell!

That's the problem, many people hand-register a domain and automatically believe they own a 5 figure+ asset.

If you own a .com and the domain is registered in other extensions, i think that's usually a good indication you may own something that might have value.

I know that new gTLDs like .casino not really popular in the moment, but for .casino can be interested in future!

But clearly only .casino-Domains with a "top" Keyword are valuable.
.casino-Domains with Keyword like "free", "poker", "lasvegas", "vr" ..... and i think for european gambling market "gratis"!

So there is probably 50,000 potential smartproduct.com domains that are similar. How many are selling and how many are going to have any real lifespan long term? For tech items how many will the "smart" part become meaningless because all devices of that types will have those features?

Even smarttv.com smartphone.com is becoming irrelevant.

On a more serious note.... Yes I totally agree some people have posted names that aren't good and expect to fantastical valuations so some critique is warranted. There are also illogical and uneducated comments on valuable names, but that comes with the territory. I'm having fun with it

Acquired it in 2015 and was private acquisition. That member saying might be because I shared about acquisition on my blog in 2015.
