Facebook™️ will surely want to buy it from you for $50,000.

Facebook is is a trademark. Not only that, but it is a trademark of one of the most powerful companies in the world today. Probably only second to Google.

You don't use trademarked names in a domain unless you want to be dragged through the coals.
If you registered this domain in the last 5 days or less, ask your registrar to grace delete it. Otherwise, just tell them to drop it (you lose all the money, but that is the price you pay for not researching what and what not to register before you actually register it).

But let's say it did not a trademark problem (which it does), it's still a bad domain.

What people do when they want to register a domain that pertains to facebook, they just use FB. I'm not saying that this is legally sound, but a lot of FB-related products/services do seem to do that without problems (seemingly anyhow).

It's a trademark. Facebook is a trademarked word. That means if you register a domain with that trademark in it, you can be sued and/or they can file a UDRP and take the domain from you which will cost you money and you will lose the domain.

Never register a domain that has someone else's business name, brand name or any other type for name. For instance, never register...

IloveCocacola.com
IhatePepsi.com
WalmartDeals.com
BurgerKingCoupons.com

etc.

Anyone who registers a domain with a trademark of, say, Facebook can be legally and reasonably assumed to be trying to profit from their trademark. You will never win.

@yoosuf I highly recommend that you spend some time lurking this forum, do a "trademark" search and check out the (dot)ca showcase thread (you see what selling and what other investors in (dot)ca are buying).

I want to point out that there are always exceptions to the rule.

Like paypalsucks.com - they been around forever and surely paypal knows about them. They also own many other domains with the paypal TM.

But you can't look at sites like that and say, "hey if they can do it so can I". Best to play it safe, especially with these huge companies, but really with any company. You don't want to be known as a squatter. And you sure as heck don't want to spend time in courts and money on attorneys if you can help it...and you can help it most of the time with domains.

We don't talk about if it is good or bad. We assure you that it's dangerous.
