The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Most registrars (us included) are still bound to the laws of the country in which we are incorporated. So yes, we are also part-time tax agents....also part-time crime fighters. =)
Actually, we are all bound by the laws of our respective countries, in some cases also our countries of current residence. However, IMHO, this does not make us all obligated to act as tax agents or crime fighters. If for no other reason that most of us are not qualified or trained as such. Laws, tax regulations, not only have become complex beyond comprehension of most people, but are subject to interpretation where final arbitration is, in many cases, done in a court of law, where rulings against the know it all tax authorities are the norm rather than the exception. But, hey, thanks @namesilo, for making it clear what you perceive Namesilo's job to be and the hell with your clients' interests! (if they seem to be at odds with your interpretation of God knows what) :sneaky:

Like all of us, you want to protect your interests. So your lawyers covered their ass :ROFL: and told you to discontinue Bitcoin payouts. Fair enough, for a number of reasons. However, your explanation and job description shows a great deal of arrogance and, well, no offence, but... stupidity. I, for one, prefer to deal with people smarter than that, so will take my business elsewhere. I don't mind taking up tax issues with respective tax authorities, but self appointed "tax agents"... thanks, but no thanks!

I love Namesilo, from every angle. But one thing is pissing me off - their auction pricing. Now, airobotic dotcom is $55 and it's 24 days to the end!! Obviously already taken for these $55.

Well i understand, machine pricing algos etc, but it's still crazy.

The previous owner still has that time to renew. That's why it still has 24 days until it ends. It's an expired auction.

They don’t have auctions, they have “buy it now” for the first person that is willing to pay the fee. It’s something they lose lots of money on and as they recently stated, the format may change.

Yes, you are right. However, in the example he gave, it was an expiring domain, so it runs the full month.

Namesilo calles the process an auction but it’s not. At any rate hopefully they move to a platform like GoDaddy or Dynadot.

High value domains always get renewed, so generally it is a waste of time. I'm pretty sure that airobotic.com will be renewed.

I used to see same names expiring every year. Sometimes renewed last hour. It was good in old days, nowdays its hurt

You didn't understand me. Maybe because i didn't express myself clearly. For such domain, you can expect their price in thousands in 24 days, and $55 would be like 3 days until the end. Here, in this case someone grabbed this great domain for only $55.

@namesilo For payout, there is an option, "Wire Transfer"

So is there any fixed (or standard) fee you charge for making international wire transfer payments?

For example, Epik has a flat $50 (Fixed fee) for international wire transfer payouts.
Is there any such thing with @namesilo?

They didn't change any fees for the wire transfer last time I asked a month ago. On the payout page it clearly stated that there is only fees with PayPal withdrawal.

One question, Does Namesilo have the traffic to get good prices on their market?

Are there any plans to make the for sale landing pages secure (https://)?

@namesilo please make payout to account funds instant. Taking about 24 hours isn't the quickest thing.

@thekiller - apologies for any delays but our team needs to check all payouts for fraud/validity before sending and this can sometimes take a few hours.

I was going through my list of available names at namesilo.
Putting in lists of 50 or so.
Some of my names are .org but i noticed in default search a bunch of .crap extensions are there but .org is not. Where is .org? Only 2 of the golden oldies, my country code TY and New G's
Even when i search randomnamexx.org in search bar, no results for it
.COM :xf.grin:
.NET :xf.rolleyes:
.CLUB :beaver:
.CA (y)
.TOP :xf.eek:
.STORE :xf.eek:
.XYZ :xf.frown:
.GLOBAL
.ONLINE:wacky:

@namesilo

Do you have stats on how many expired domains get renewed last minute? By last minute I mean within a day or two of them being awarded to high bidders.

It seems that last minute renewals happen often at your platform. This just doesn’t make sense from the perspective of the current owner and certainly doesn’t add up to those of us that have years of domaining experience.

Many were complaining about the old Namesilo auction system, but now it turned into something really awful. No proxy bids; no last minute bid extension; all auctions end in the same time; - what a joke! It's really no more than a snipers war now.

Here is a very typical bidding history for just a typical NS auction:

The end time is obviously 00:00:00.

If it's not a joke, what is it?

I was buying expiring domains for $1 - $50 (+ renewal fee) with no bidding war. It's sad, is no longer possible.

Unfortunately everywhere there are some people who keep trying to fix unbroken things.

You can add SSL to any domain via cloudflare. It's free. You may point your DNS to namesilo servers, will not have to buy a hosting if you do so. Also cloudlare nameservers are configured better than most nameservers.

@namesilo

When will you reply to PayPal about the cases I raised? I'm waiting for you. Please don't open my accounts again. Don't say I will have your products delivered on my hands. Don't tell lies to PayPal again like before.

There maybe hidden significant fees charged by intermediate banks. Don't trust their slogans and fall into a trap.

Yes you may use AWS route53 too. It has a very very short latency and high-end too.
