I made a bid $210 for a LLLL.com name and the auction supposed to end at 8:00am this morning with the BIN is $299.
The OP created an account at 7:03am and posted "$299 claim" in order to avoid to sell to me at $210.

I reported the suspicious post and the thread is closed now.

Does the OP supposed to sell the name to me at $210?
His account should be banned instead of restricted.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
the mods would be able to confirm if there were correspondents via PM for the bin sale

he should sell of course. but... there is nothing you can do if he won't. just give him bad biz warning.

however in case of shill bidding like here.. it shouldn't be bad biz warning.. but account suspension imo. for both accounts of course. of which one is already gone I think.

Mod confirmed the second account is the same IP address as the OP IP.

I am not much concerned about the name but the crook needed to be gone from this community.

He should be banned.

as i see it, the OP delivers the name or gets banned

Hmm... OP should be banned if true.

Where do you see the restriction?

The newly created account was auto-closed.

Yet the seller doesn't appear to have any public indication of a restriction or a bad business trade review.

...

Sorry to see this happen. And thanks for reporting.

It's up to the community to report these instances both to mods, and also via trade reviews. The more info in the trade review, the better community is informed.

Ethically speaking, yes. But regardless of any rules set forth in the forum, there is no true legal binding of bids and offers here.

Ah, well. These people are all over. Best to go into a bid with the idea that you're not going to get it IMHO.

I’m not too sure about that. Not an attorney here, but as far as I can see, electronic messages with offers and bids seem to constitute a legally binding agreement. A formal written contact is not the only type of agreement that exists.

Yeah, but the cost of pursuing it isn't really worth it. We can say all day long that there is a legally binding contract. That only goes as far as your wallet.

a legally binding agreement

Yes, an offer was made, accepted and consideration was a part but enforcing it is the problem.

For clarification, the sellers account is banned from the marketplace for security reasons and was done so at the time of the listing closure. However, since the member used the Custom Title feature (Making it the default title) that comes with a gold account, the "Restricted" title is not showing.

Shill bidding is a very serious matter. The duplicate account was closed by a moderator and the original account was restricted from the marketplace for security reasons, as per our policy.

If you need anything else regarding this resolved matter, please contact support.

Actually the auction was about to close at my highest bid of 155$ when the seller suddenly removed the name and closed the thread

I notified admin , so they force him to reopen it and time was extended

Former moderator member just came in to bid and auction become active again but the seller put a reserve at 699$

I notified admin again , reserve removed

I was willing to pay more than 210$ but I lost interest in the domain and I was curious to know what is going on

Lastly shill bidding and account not banned !

For me I would like only to put a negative feedback and move on
