So I got an offer on one my "River Cruises" domains via Afternic.

I don't think it's a domainer as they reached out to my via Afternic and even so Afternic showed me his full name of which I checked on Google and he happens to be the Director of marketing for U*n*i*w*o*r*l*d.com
(remove all the *)

my domain is U****River*******Cruises.com

I feel really stupid now because I should have registered U*********River*******Cruise.com too. damnit!

Go take a look at U***********River*********Cruise.com and see where it goes.

but go check who owns it?

The Travel Corporation (TTC.com)

I had countered the current offer which was under $300 with the old prices for CheapRiverCruises.com 20,000 USD

Was this a mistake? I can still bump up the price to some obscene price just so there is enough room for negotiation.

they have not replied back and surprisingly Afternic is allowing me to counter again. They even advise me to counter higher?

lol that's pretty cool automated "Advice".

so what do you think guys? Counter $250,000? lol

any how much would CheapRiverCruises.com and EuropeanRiverCruises.com be worth today if sold today?

If you haven't heard back from them, I think your next offer will have to be lower, not higher.

How long since you sent the counter offer?

I would never post this until the sale is finalized, you can lose sales by posting in public forums, especially posting who they are.

Hey Giles. Long time no see.

You're right of course but I did go out of my way to obscure the pertinent info on my post. Or did I miss something ? Can they Google my post here after I add all those *******?

I really think this is going to be a good thing. The other company seems to be squatting on the singular version of my domain because this other company in their website mentions the exact kewwords of my domain in the right order.

There are ways and it can turn up in searches, just googling CheapRiverCruises.com brings up this thread on the first page. Buyers might google similar sales like you did to get an idea of similar sales so they dont pay too much.

You will probably be ok but why risk a potentially big sale by posting it.

I almost fell my bed seeing this post. I had just uploaded my list to afternic. Had gd premier services do it. Told them just to put $250 minimum offer but they all should be MAKE OFFER. so I gotta ask where did you see this BuyNow page? I called Afternic.

They eased my peace and told me and showed me it is make offer with min at $250.

Because if what you said is right then all my stuff right would be buy now.

If you can please tell me where you saw that page?

I typed in the domain, and that page came up, afternic is probably slow to remove it after you got your lowball offer.

Hmm but their low-ball was $25 above the buy now.

Strange that they made an offer above buy now when they could have just hit buy now and should be legally binding too.

Probably just a glitch but I'm having afternic investigate thoroughly.

Probably just a glitch, or maybe just a bad entry, that was changed, but slow to change. Maybe they weren't able to checkout right away, so they went with an offer instead, as BIN requires instant payment I believe.

Anyways best of luck with your sale.
