Is Esport a recognised terminology for Esports?

‘Esports’ seems to be the standard but can sometimes sound really weird.

''sport'' is a noun (it can also be a verb) and ''sports'' is both a noun (plural) and an adjective. When you're talking about more than one sport, then you say "sports". For example: I love to play all kinds of sports. ... For example: My favorite sport is basketball

sports” is also in the same category as “economics” and “politics,” both of which can be singular or plural, depending on context. Some will insist that “sports” is a plural noun, regardless of context. The dictionaries provide little guidance. They tend to list “sport” as a noun and “sports” as its plural.

What do you think?

Esports with "s", has x4 times the results on Google of "Esport".

As I could see, almost nobody is using the singular term for developing a website with decent visits. You also have to take in consideration the official term is with S, and the singular name sounds weird to me.

IMHO it seems very clear which is the present of the term and which will most likely be the future of it.

How did you get your name on namejet if you don't mind me asking? It seems difficult...
