This thread is a central location to report domain name sales of any dollar amount.

As much information as you can include about the transaction is welcome, but at a bare minimum please include the domain name(s), the sale price, and whether you were the seller.

Good luck with your sales!

Please use the Like and Thank links on a post to indicate that you like it or are thankful for it being shared.

  • Tip: Use the Like/Thanks feature instead.

Questions are allowed, but do not post commentary. If you want to discuss or comment on a sale in this thread, quote it and then post it in the following thread instead:

@JudgeMind Can you mention if it was a name you submitted to a specific contest or a company happened to be browsing names and chose your name?

it was submitted to a few but im pretty sure the sale likely cam from the marketplace, I had it listed at $4399 and reduced the price $200, one of the buyers who had it shortlisted must have liked that price reduction.

  • My total portfolio size will be approx 1000 domains by the end of this month
  • More than 80% of my domains are .CO but I'm trying to diversify!
  • I've been testing recently with Efty vs Undeveloped landers (both BIN+MakeOffer)
  • If you haven't read it already: my experience with custom landers (and deal flow)
  • If you're new to NP/domaining: here's a thread that might be interesting

Domain name: V I T A M U , com
Sale venue: Undeveloped.com
Asking price: $2000
Sale price: $600
Purchase venue: Hand Reg
Purchase price: $4 (With GD discount coupon)

Held for about a year. Started at $400, back and forth, little movement upwards so messaged to ask top price, was told $500, responded with $600 and got a deal done. Left money on table I feel, could have held out but re-invested the money already so on to the next one...

Turns out the buyer is from Buzzfeed. Facebook page has over 4 million followers. Maybe I undersold and didn't price right. Although always going to depend how much buyer wants it.

Congrats on the sale! My only question is: would you be happy with that amount had you not known who the end user is?

Personally I would not look at it that way - the whole "woulda, coulda, shoulda" approach. That's the pro/con of listing a domain - you never know who the potential buyer is.

I have learned to price my BIN domains based on an amount I'd be happy selling for regardless of the end user. Once a sale takes place, I look at it as being better to have a sale than no sale at all.

Same thing happened to me. I listed a 4L .co for mid $xxx (first .co i registered and used it to build a site) then I had no use for it, listed it on GD auctions and was scooped up immediately by a Brazilian payment processing startup. I probably could have gotten more but that's the learning process. Take what you learn from 1 sale and apply it to the next.

Congrats again!

Always appreciate your sales, especially .co sales!

What have you found thus far from Effy verse Undeveloped? Anyone seem better than the other?
