@JoeStyler Why do my .CO Afternic listings show $109,999.99/year renewal? I don't see this on other .CO listings just mine. Others say they can post .CO just fine. Please update us on this issue.

Anyone else seeing this on "premium" flagged domains?

Has anyone here had any luck with selling NNN or NNNN? I own a few double and triple repeating numbers (not 4) but have not had any offers or sales.

What about you?

I think I only own something like 2040....co
or around there.. no offers.

otherwise I never did and do not really plan on looking much into this.

I guess by now... every 3-4N domain is premium too.

but I'd need to check what namebio has to say about all this. never did really.

No not all LLL's are premium (or becoming premium once dropped). But a lot of them. Some of them who drop are not premium ! There's a trick how to know how., but about that : later.
(But lots of catchers are trying to catch these non-premium LLL.CO's).
I know that at a particular registrar a domain is suddenly called premium (an LLL.CO)
when I RENEW. They charge there 1 USD if I renew. At other registrar that's not the case and I simply can renew all names for the normal renewalpricing of .CO's there (so not 1 USD extra).

1/ No : I'm 100% sure. Certainly when you renew you don't have to pay more then a normal renewal at most registrars. Only if they drop they become premium and suddenly registration is 1.200 USD or more 3.000, 12.000 etc... But some with not so popular letters are not premium, and when they drop are not premium. and can be registerred at normal price, but usually are catched.
There's a specific place that I can check that. (when there are lots of drops-only then I can check that).

2/What I find disturbing though is that with LLL.CO domains that I renew (LLL.CO), at Namesilo, I suddenly see that they call some of them premium and others not at checkout. BUT they don't charge for the renewal 1.200 USD or 3.000 or 6.000 or 12.000 (like with most re-registrations of LLL-premiums cost that drop since 1 september 2018), but 23,99 USD for a premium-renewal, and 22,99 USD for renewal of a non premium-LLL.CO.

I even took printscreens of it, when I discoverred that. (For instance I renewed 4 LLL.CO's and 3 are highlighted in red and cost 23.99 for the renewal and 1 is not highlighted and is 22.99 USD for the renewal. Elswehere (other registrar) I dont see difference when I renew : It's simply the normal renewalpricing (and no distiction is made)..
PROBABLY IT WILL BE SO HOWEVER THAT the ones that Namesilo call premiums, will cost suddenly more if I let them DROP next year. But of course I don't intend to do that.

IT WILL BE NECESSARY to CONTACT THE REGISTRY to get certainty that these domainnames that are called premium at Namesilo, not suddenly will have to be renewed for a lot of money in the future (f.i. next year), because that would be a VERY NASTY THING TO DO, because I didn't DROP these domains.
That 1 $ difference at Namesilo, is acceptable and can be something that only happens at Namesilo. And usually everywhere else renewals of co's cost more.then the 23.99 USD. (In fact I don't find it acceptable, and I want to formally protest to the registry about it : When you renew in time : the renewalrate may not be suddenly more then the norma renewalrate).

IS THERE ANYBODY WHO KNOWS THE CEO-phone or address and emailaddres OF THE .CO-REGISTRY about this ? Maybe we should all protest against somedthing like that.

We have to be careful and clarify "Premium Price" as a one time up front domainer like fee versus "Renewal Price" which is the same regardless of value for the .CO tld.

Renewal fees that you pay annually may vary as per the 'Registrar' price list published on your favorite site GoDaddy, NameSilo, etc. You might just be getting logged out or viewing special offers (clicked a coupon link) if the price varies by $1 for example.

See the pricing difference on GoDaddy retail $34.99 vs discounted club $24.99.
https://www.godaddy.com/domains/discount-domains.aspx

The .CO Registry doesn't offer registration support as you might think, because they are not registering the domain for you, GoDaddy the Registrar does that.

How much does it cost to renew my .CO premium domain name?
http://support.go.co/customer/es/po...s-it-cost-to-renew-my-co-premium-domain-name-

There might still be code bugs out there in regards to how "Premium Price" and .CO annual renewals are being quoted by registrars and using automated tools. I'd suggest that you contact your registrar (GoDaddy, NameSilo, etc) before anyone else and send them your screenshots.

Last I knew a domain name that expires and DROPS can be captured by the .CO Registry and they can then charge an up front premium. The registrars in turn will mark up that premium so variation may exist.

Not all will expire and drop. Some registrars maintain ownership and resell as they wish. Many registrars hold vast portfolios of domains directly or through sub-companies. You can spot that by reviewing whois info and compare across several domain names for example.

ah ok i see our misunderstanding ... when i said prem i didnt mean renewal or transfer fees..those were left unchanged by co registry...plus minus couple bucks... me i refered to status of domains.. think of it like this...when i say prem status i mean that if yer name was dropped and went to registry theyd resell it at prem price..so based on this i said that all 3l.co are prem now...which is true..

I let a random 3 letter .co go, I still have another one though that I use for one of my websites as a URL shortener. Hoping for good things in the future for LLL.co! They are expensive on the renewals though even as when they haven't dropped and been re-classified as premium.

hmmm... you let them go how? by selling them or dropping them?
if u sell them on gd auctions or even here on np you still probably get $50-100+ each... even "random" stuff.

nobody really just lets 3l.co of any kind expire these days... as they have that so called floor value.. basically. cheers.

200+ LLL.co have dropped over last 180 days alone... all have been picked up by the .CO registry and are priced between $650 and $1300

well I mean.. u know.. I meant domainers dropping them.. not endusers..

endusers don't know about floor prices...

I don't know a signle np member who just let their 3l.co expire... no matter how random... when you can just post it here instead for sale and get easy 50$ or so

or post on godady auctions etc.

or even if there are such domainers... and I am wrong about that... then this still does not change fact that its a bad idea to just let your 3l.co expire.. which is my point here :)

Yes, I let a LLL.co expire. You're all quite right, it's a stupid move. I let it go because I thought it was bad letters (it was g///u//x/.co) and it was costing too much per month and my head wasn't in the domain game like it should have been. The only consolation is that I have a second one.

You do now :penguin:

I also bought G/D/N/.////c/o on Godaddy recently for a few hundred dollars on TDNAM only to find that I couldn't have it. That's when I found out about the whole .CO premium domain reservations. I'm not sure whether it was a reservation at this point because it's still with the same registrar last time I checked.

I've heard earlier (or betterread) earlier that this only counts for selling particular domains there. You can still register domains though. It only concerns listing for sale.
Is this still the case ? at godaddy, because its only there
