I like .one extension a lot. plus I got a few offers on my .one domains lately so I am all warm fuzzy about it.

I decided to share some warmth by creating a showcase thread. it would be nice for me to hear your .one domains. who knows maybe we can even trade some.

here I go first:

  • 3-d.one
  • arcade.one
  • bookmark.one
  • copyright.one
  • dictionary.one
  • eternity.one
  • explorer.one
  • gambler.one
  • immortal.one
  • input.one
  • kinky.one
  • meta.one
  • metaverse.one
  • prototype.one
  • rep.one
  • satan.one
  • subject.one
  • terminal.one
  • torrent.one
  • virtualreality.one

and to get you more pumpted about .one, here is some great sales already, not by me:

I picked up Dos when .one first came out (first week of availability), as in the number 2 in Spanish.

OOS is an acronym used every day in my line of work, stands for "out of service". When a customer is OOS, I have to go fix them.

This would have been a real hit, had .one been released in the 80's!

I sold dice.one, ink.one, and chain.one. Good extension for crypto related names. 2 of the three names are developed now. Still waiting on chain.one to have something big like iov.one.

Wow, those are amazing names. Chain.one is particularly good, although both of the others are excellent, as their both purchase and development indicates.

To be honest I had never really considered this extension much but I plan to look into it more as a result of this thread. In fact with respect to this TLD I guess you could say I was this. :xf.grin:

I think .one is like other gtld, only popuplar key words have real market value....but I feel it have certain advantage which make me start to love it...

1. its price is good and reasonable.
2. it is short, this beat lots of other gtld, I always feel I like 3 letter extention other than 4 letter or some crazy more...
3. it is easy, simple.pronouceable word, not like xyz or ooo,
4. it is a quite generic word, not like .study, .design, .domains, .vet have a specific meaning thus only functional well in that niche.
5. itself is kind of peace.lowprofile name, not like .top .fun, which give me an unprofessional feeling...
6. it is still very low profile in the markete thus still have lots useful name there...

I am not really suggest to invest(hard to judge the future development), but I think it is quite useful extention as a reasonable alternative for .com in some situation, specially for who want build some personal or small prj but obviosly can not afford to buy a LLL.com :xf.wink:

I start seek more name of .one now, just reg myphoto, another replacement for my personal photo collection site name, again, it is not really domain investment, in this case, I rep thoes person who want an affoable while nice name for personal usage....

in other side, if more public person other than domainer thinking in my way, .one may be become a nice investment while not only for chain or drone....

anyway, I just do my own hobby now....

A while back, someone posted in this thread (perhaps alcy) that .one was a 'sleeper' TLD, meaning its popularity will not be sudden, but more of a slow creep. I tend to agree with this analysis, and we have seen evidence of it over the years, as more and more people seem to be getting an "aha" moment with .one, realizing its strengths on so many levels.

Zilla pointed out the many merits of .one, but those of us investing in this TLD do not want to make the mistake of souring potential buyers because of unrealistic value/pricing, and turning them away from .one to other, subpar extensions where they may be more than happy to just 'make do'. After all, money talks, and most folks will do what ever it takes to save it.

We all know in this thread there's a ton of competition right now in the gTLD market, but with .one we have the edge because of its long-term hold viability (low renewals) and its blanket brandability (the word 'one' is incorporated in thousands of business names). So fair and appealing wholesale/retail (depending your model) pricing is an absolute must to keep this 'sleeper' TLD from going into a coma.

I think it's ok, depending on your portfolio size, to price some names extravagantly, because sure, they absolutely warrant it, and after all, it is an investment. While it is a balancing act, and we don't want to undervalue our good names, we should also consider pricing strategies for welcoming new investors in the game, because this brings potential for more eyes and a bigger audience.

Although sure many LLL's dropping daily, and still a ton of words avail to hand-reg, before we know it, this won't be the case anymore. There's going to be a huge mix of endusers using .one (in fact, there's already a healthy amount of usage right now), along with investors/endusers holding anything that makes sense or due to speculation. Whatever the case, I think ultimately still we are sitting on an opportunity that cannot be ignored, and keeping our names appealing through proper pricing is paramount for finalizing a case for anyone not familiar with the extension.

Just want to end with, .one for all, and all for .one! (as recently said in discussion with fellow member here), and thanks to Zilla and Bob for opening up your thoughts on it, love how we all stimulate each other particularly with something we're passionate about.

Nice points made above by @Zilla.

I had a look at .one on NameStat.
  • The top countries in terms of registrations are Germany, US, China, UK, Sweden,Denmark
  • There are 223 .one websites in Alexa 1M, or 1 for every 314 registered domains - a very strong number similar to .com on a proportional basis.
  • Registrations have been fairly constant since mid 2016
  • Handled by 65 registrars,, with GoDaddy, OneCOM, and Tucows most of the registrations.
If you look at the sales on NameBio (list at this link), although not a huge number of them yet , it is encouraging that 8 of the 10 have happened in the last 18 months (including the recent big sale of rex).

I tend to agree with view expressed above that it is a slow gain in momentum. The stable and reasonable renewal cost helps.

I own none, although have been actively looking at what is available recently. Thanks to the NPs members who first drew my attention to it.

At least two of the $$$$ sales go to operating crypto companies I see. Looking to buy an aircraft with all your domain earnings? You might want to check out air.one! :xf.cool: (they also have helicopters if that is what you are looking for)

Renewals are not reasonable for their Premiums...
They charge Premium fee yearly...

Which would make sense, taking into account all the obvious, "in the box" names being taken, and leaving the rest up for grabs.

But what about unanticipated, out-the-box usage, as Zilla demonstrated? More to come? Creative, unique reg's like MyPhoto/One. Has a nice ring to it, I like it. Something not considered before. possessive+keyword.one.

From beginning of January 2018, 50k registered to 80k by years end. It stayed at 50k for a couple years, I believe.

No one really knows about .one. I don't think even .one cent was spent on marketing the extension. I mean, you have to look hard on one.com to even find any mention of .one.

True. These stats as per current registrations, even sales, are totally raw, depend on investors carrying it, or savvy endusers finding it all on their own. Its possible some buyers have found it through someone's portfolio where its listed, and names can be browsed. There's been no promo ever of the extension giving it any discount.

In a way though, these .99 cent or $1.99 promos that are applied to some of the other gTLDs, I find almost 'cheapen' them, making them less desirable in terms of being a serious TLD to base a business on. Although, I'm sure we wouldn't complain on a nice .one sale :)

I realize in rereading my post I left out a key word. It should have said 8 of the 10 largest sales. Sorry about that.

I noticed another .one sale in this morning's NameBio report. DreamFilm sold for $210 at Dynadot. Not a huge sale, but interesting to see a two word domain name sold in the extension.

It has many indexed pages and, probably, backlinks...
And that's why were bidders.

yeah many/most of dynadot sales expired auctions are for backlinks and stuff.. of course .. not all... still it means it was a nicely developed popular .one site.. in many such cases. so thats always good news for .one of course
