It also looks like Registrars are still having a lot of trouble with the TBR, and allowing MyID and Sibername to feast like Kings. Check out this page of orders, and several of these never got picked up at all, so obviously the orders never went through to the CIRA:

This is the email thread I have had with CIRA about the TBR results. Mine in bold, CIRA's in italics. CIRA's replies are in ESL I think. The exchange was slow as well, taking place between Feb 15-19. I have no idea what their 2nd reply means.

I'm not sure if its worth continuing the conversation.

I can't find the TBR results for Feb 13 anywhere. Can you please post the results somewhere on your website and begin to do this regularly?The information is vital to assess which registrar I should place my backorders at.

Hi Chris,

As we have recently migrated .CA to a new platform, some previous features are not fully implemented in the new platform. The TBR should be up in running correctly in the coming weeks.

The TBR for the 13th was pushed forward to the 20th. All of the results for the 20th are compiled of the 13th and the 20th of February.

I read that as:
a) they will restore functionality, eventually.
b) Feb 13 TBR didn't exist. You will find those results posted under Feb 12. Eventually.
c) yes, we had our heads up our asses, pulled the trigger on this fury cut-over way before we were ready, but we're doing our best to pretend this was no big deal.

Actually, it wasn't... being a programmer and a domainer is a good combo. I usually don't share too much about that because that's my competitive advantage. But in this case, i figure its the same info CIRA has been, and will soon again be publishing. So for now, I'll fill in the blanks for you guys.

So who the heck is "FastWebServer.ca" and how did they scoop grow.ca away from MYID and Sibername?

Maybe they got lucky?

After all, a lot of Registrars are still out in the cold (like Pool, dot-ca-registry, etc.), while MyID and Sibername only have so many servers.

And it's obvious from their top picks that MyID and Siber valued ABA.CA and BAN.CA more than GROW.CA.

Yep, and I've done a bit of adjustment based on some other sources and input. And it's obviously the best we can get at this point, and the most complete.

aba.ca is at $500 at Sibername right now.
grow.ca had a minimum of $5000 just before the TBR. Namespro also had it up to $5000. MYID had several bids for it as well.

I'm hoping we have a new player in the TBR space.

Maybe, but I'm really wondering where POOL is right now - they seem to be having a very difficult time with the "new CIRA" and don't seem to have .CA listed at all. And POOL is hardly alone in having trouble, they're just the biggest.

Right now, it seems to be MyID and Siber bellying up to the bar each week and gorging themselves.

Fast web server has been around for a while. They use to catch quite a bit more 3 or 4 years or so ago but now myid has grabbed the bull by its horns.

I did manage to grab albums from this weeks list. I thought it was a nice pick up.

Definitely, but there is something we might forget in all this - TBR registrars like MyID, Siber, POOL, etc, are *supposed* to be buying these domains for end users, and tailoring their server requests towards buyer interest and bid amounts rather than how much they think they'll get in an auction.

I realize that it probably doesn't happen like it should, but we're talking like MyID is eBay and Siber is Amazon (maybe they are?), with each trying to get the most lucrative inventory to resell without any regard to customer orders.

And spams me with some kind of facebook crap...
