Just wondering what the general thoughts are about whether the recent trend to legalize marijuana will boost the prices of pot-related domains?

Watching these recent auctions is funny to me...I’m laughing at this now.Weedmagazine.com $10.000 - GD-auction (not mine)
If they want to pay it more power to them, they will learn the hard way, inquiry after inquiry telling them they are crazy. If they ever need liquid value, expect 15-20% of what they spent, no guarantees no matter how big the industry is.Watching these recent auctions is funny to me...I’m laughing at this now.

My strategy is what it’s always been - try to buy the best domains I can afford and wait. The key to this though is understanding what these are worth. What would your strategy be if you owned similar domains right now? Strike while the iron is hot, or hold em? Would love your thoughts on:

WeedQuarterly .com
So many options between auctions, buy-it-now, brandable marketplaces, or just sitting on them for awhile. Valuation is hard enough! Would love some advice.

There has been tons of over-bidding at GoDaddy lately. My rep clued me in on what scams get run sometimes. Not saying this latest sale isn’t legit but there are certainly ways for people to run up auctions and bail so their buddy gets it on the cheap.
I thought weed wasn't so hot a name... compared to say cannabis or marijuana... pot is just kinda bad.. cause of pottery and pots.. which kinda kills it.
WEED MAGAZINE is as good as it gets. This is a culture that has HISTORY. WEED will never not be used.

Quality name, though I'm not sure why anyone would pay that price, short of an end-user. Let's see if the price holds, or if this too defaults to another bidder.
PlanetCannabis is the next one to watch. Will be interesting to find what transpires post auction.
Weed and Pot were actually the preferred terms the first time this niche had a surge, which was about 5-6 years ago, and by then nearly all the good names were long gone. They had their heyday, and will again, imo, as this niche is a cyclical, unlike others. The best time to get weed and pot names is now while domainers new to this niche continue to discount them as viable keywords. Get the goods while the competition sleeps...imo.
