SquadHelp - Marketplace

Spaceship Spaceship

Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Agreeed, the new dashboard is impressive! Defo the best and most comprehensive dashboard out there imo
Indeed, they are slowing added features, now for example they started adding the names that sold quickest from the date of listing in the site. Time to sale, popularity(hotness) of your names, favs/shortlists , approval rate, portfolio value, sold , were something which were so far only available with BP dashboard.

Looks like the site average for sales is 20 weeks from listing, so like five months.

No , when searched on the site , they will not appear. only when typed into address bar.

which makes sense, or else we could flood the domains clients see with poop.

also the listings ive been adding lately are getting approved and listed super fast, the previous delay i complained about is not really an issue.

I mentioned this already that it is a nice feature, also the trending sellers is very nice.

Back to the 3 days or 5 days or whatever listing, I like SH very very much already because they seem to be getting on to the right path. But let me give you a scenario, suppose an enduser saw the domain that sold on some other marketplace and decided to buy, then came back to see the name is on SH with lower or similar price then buying it instantly.

The only scenario that can rule out such thing happening is if the name is chosen as contest winning, in that case , the enduser bought it because of the submission name on his or her contest.

I received once a $3000 offer for a name that was approved by the wellknown marketplaces. I rejected then six months or so listed in on one of them but lowered the price to that $3000. Guess what happened? The same end user bought it quickly!

I think everyone will enjoy this ... and have fun with it. dont abuse it or we'll lose it though.

listen to the audio on www.CannaHeals.com

you can edit it yourself by scrolling over and clicking the domain name in your list and filling in the
" pronounce how it sounds section "

@JudgeMind can we expect some result with their basic or basic plus listing? Have you listed some of your domains in these section & got sales?

Thanks!

Thank you for this superb introduction to SquadHelp. Seeing your portfolio is both impressive and a nice lesson in good brandable names. I note that you have .com and .co and .io. Do they also accept any other extensions do you know? (I can't seem to see it in their FAQs and don't have an account with them to try.

I hope not considered off topic, but I just posted in a different thread here a look at some sales stats from BrandBucket and my analysis of whether, on average, the brandable marketplces are profitable for domain investors. While that analysis only applies directly to BrandBucket, it may be informative to some degree more generally.

Thanks again @JudgeMind. I had been thinking about SquadHelp ever since DNWire did a podcast with the founder, but your experience and post has pushed me to actually try it out soon!

Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable.

What compensation if any, are you receiving from SquadHelp? Aren't some commissions as high as 70%?

Hi Bob

If the domain itself is strong enough they will accept other extensions. Their main focus is .com but they have accepted, .co .net .org .org and have informed me they will also accept .ca if it’s a strong domain. I think they are targeting one word domains for extensions other than .com

Commission is ridiculously high especially on domains they price lower.

you have to think with better calculation.... high commision only paid when your domain sold, it is absolutely different from upfront listing fee such as BB 100$ per name without any guarantee...

Seriously though if JudgeMind is being PAID to promote SquadHelp at NamePros or is any way shape or form a paid promoter on their payroll or is receiving any form of extra benefit in exchange for promoting (such as his domains all get premium listed at SH) I really don’t know what to say or think. That would definitely not be good in my book to be a paid or compensated promoter without making clear disclosure to us. Without knowing if this is or is not true I won’t comment further at this time.

I need to clarify something. In no way am I being paid or compensated to promote Squad Help.

The purpose of my review was to identify to the community of a new and emerging marketplace that I really found has a lot more potential for sellers to be successful over the alternatives.

Note: The link in my signature to squadhelp.com is an affiliate link. I have earned points for referring other sellers to the marketplace. Any of you can do the same.

Hope this answers some questions. Feel free to ask anything else!

Two of the contestest holders like your name you’ve submitted to their contest! Good luck!
