If fanatical pseudo Christian extremist terrorists began shouting “Praise the lord” as they killed people, it wouldn’t make every Christian who says “praise the lord” a terrorist.

Name one.

Weird how the NY times uses pictures of women, not men who were the majority of victims.

Um, Bob robbing a bank is bad.

So you only have a problem if rape is done by Muslims, if Christians do it, you try to find a way to deflect or excuse it.

Seriously, that's just 2 states and parts of the state. How much do you think we would find if every state was examined?

"The report, which covered six of the state’s eight Catholic dioceses and found more than 1,000 identifiable victims"

1000 in that 1 state, just ones they could identify, just 6 dioceses. Probably would go into 6 figures.

What are you mumbling about JB? Why are you pretending someone said Muslim rape gangs in the UK were OK?

Southern Baptist 700 sex abuse victims over 20 years. The biggest difference I can find is, A lot of baptist went to jail. Their leadership is loosely affiliated with little power over individual Churches.

It's never ok, that's the point. Except, you've tried to excuse it when it comes to Christians.

What about Priest rape gangs?

Robert Mueller’s secret weapon has Trump’s team scared: MSNBC

That was from last week.

Trump spooked again, on a Sunday.

THE RIGGED AND CORRUPT MEDIA IS THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!

“These guys, the investigators, ought to be in jail. What they have done, working with the Obama intelligence agencies, is simply unprecedented. This is one of the greatest political hoaxes ever perpetrated on the people of this Country, and Mueller is a coverup.” Rush Limbaugh

The Mueller investigation is totally conflicted, illegal and rigged! Should never have been allowed to begin, except for the Collusion and many crimes committed by the Democrats. Witch Hunt!

Disgraced FBI Acting Director Andrew McCabe pretends to be a “poor little Angel” when in fact he was a big part of the Crooked Hillary Scandal & the Russia Hoax - a puppet for Leakin’ James Comey. I.G. report on McCabe was devastating. Part of “insurance policy” in case I won....

....Many of the top FBI brass were fired, forced to leave, or left. McCabe’s wife received BIG DOLLARS from Clinton people for her campaign - he gave Hillary a pass. McCabe is a disgrace to the FBI and a disgrace to our Country. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

This is an international forum and we have Muslim members. Maybe take this conversation to the religious thread and respectfully ask them yourself what it means?
Sooooo, Muslims and Islam is off limits but you, Kate, JB and other Liberals have no problems in constantly criticizing and talking sh*t about Christians and Christianity. Double standards and hypocrisy?

As much as you try, you cannot disassociate Islam with Politics! So as far as I'm concerned I have no objections in you and others telling us how Christianity and it's followers are so nasty and violent. I can defend myself from Liberal attacks. Muslims can come into this thread and speak their mind, which they have done on previous occasions.

Hope you are not trying to ban us from speaking about Islam in this thread. We don't need more thought control...

1) "Fact: Illegal border crossings are down 75% since 2000.

I'm always curious exactly how anyone can put a number to something that can not possibly be being tracked. Since there is no wall or legal checkpoints that they are coming through how do you come up with this figure even?

2)Fact: 80-90% of illegal drugs enter the country at legal entry point.

This is a ridiculous argument. This is a number based off the amount of drugs that are confiscated at entry points. Referring back to number one... how exactly would you be tracking the amount of drugs coming across illegally from the unmanned unprotected miles and miles of border?

3)Fact: Most illegals in this country overstayed legal visas."

Then they have already committed a criminal offence. Should't there be consequences? If I commit a crime you can bet your ass there would be consequences for me.

Stats are straight from US Border Patrol.

For the sake of argument, let’s say the exact numbers are off. Assuming methods of calculation have remained the same or improved over the years, the numbers they have still show a 75% drop since 2000.

)Fact: Most illegals in this country overstayed legal visas."
It should definitely be addressed. It's not being addressed by an overpriced, ineffective wall. This is the bulk of our illegal immigration problem and we need to get it under control.

BTW crossing the border illegally is a misdemeanor.

Drugs that are coming in are coming in in bulk in vehicles. You want to move a lot of product you need a vehicle. Nobody's driving trucks over these remote areas, they're driving them through legal points of entry. Or more often they're coming in at ports in shipping containers, which do not have nearly enough measures in place. That's where we need to budget funds, and it would be a lot cheaper than a 14th century "dumb" wall. .

Again, even if their exact numbers are off, percentage estimates should retain accuracy.

The small amounts coming through in remote areas? You can fly a drone over a wall. You can tunnel under a wall. Especially if there's no high-tech monitoring and supervision. And if you have those, you don't need the wall.

Wall will be disrupting wildlife patterns and habitats though. Who cares if we kill off a couple of endagered species?

Again, stats from Homeland Security and Border Patrol. Unlike our potus, these numbers are not being pulled out of someone's a**.

If you think those numbers are wrong, where are your stats to back that up? And your sources? You’re more than welcome to post them.

And regardless, end-running our constitution by declaring an "emergency" to bypass congress is a blatant abuse of power.

Also, regarding the drugs, the best way to address ANY problem is at its cause, not its symptoms. Many of the people addicted to these drugs started with a doctors prescription.

  • Doctors need to prescribe more responsibly - #1. I once had a doctor write me a script for Oxycontin for a freakin' wisdom tooth extraction!
I went home, took 2 ibuprofen and tore it up.
  • Doctors need to be very aware of not prescribing these drugs to anyone with a past history of addiction / alcoholism.
  • Doctors need to follow up on patients to whom they have prescribed addictive painkillers
  • Better identification / intervention of at-risk persons
  • Drug education, treatment availability and affordability.
Practically speaking, you need to work this issue from both ends, but cut down on the market and you cut down on the problem.

This will also require massive appropriation of private land, a process that is going to be long and costly.
But those 'details' are unimportant, like everything else.

Texans aren't going to let someone take their private land without a fight. And they shouldn't.

Also, very likely that the wall will affect water runoff and increase flood potential on one side or the other. This has been noted with existing barriers. Prototypes have been submitted by contactors, no mention of engineering input. The Army Corps of Engineers has not been involved in this.

I posted this the other day, but a reminder where the idea for the wall came from:

CBP, DHS, local law enforcement: Walls work, we need walls to control traffic. We don't have enough people, resources to chase hundreds of people crossing at multiple locations.

Liberals: Walls don't work! What about the butterflies!!

Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has deleted her tweet of sympathy for the Empire actor Jussie Smollett, who police in Chicago reportedly believe orchestrated a hoax hate crime attack against himself.
Last month, Smollett alleged that he was the victim of a racist and homophobic hate crime by two men who yelled “This is MAGA Country” after beating him. The incident sparked widespread condemnation and support from senior Democrats and celebrities, including Pelosi.

Remember when debates over immigration were about numbers, not protecting illegal immigration or criminals who have been removed from the our country multiple times for violent crimes?

Why don't democrats negotiate for legal immigration instead of attacking people with inflammatory accusations of racism and immorality?

Why do democrats object to an accurate account of how many people are in the USA without permission?

The house of Representatives is apportioned based on population. If you stopped counting illegal immigrants as citizens, the democrats would likely loose their majority in the House.

Democrats and the media have created a narrative that Republicans don't want immigration. It was Ronald Reagan who passed amnesty for illegal immigrants in the 1980's. George W Bush would have done the same if 9/11 hadn't happened.

Democrats are more concerned for power and blocking President Trump from expanding legal immigration than they are about citizens.

Republican are not arguing against immigration, they are objecting to uncontrolled, illegal immigration and a confusing spiderweb of laws, mandated by court order not congress.

My point was more abstract I guess then "Hey where are these numbers coming from?" It doesn't really matter whose providing them but how they're coming by them. How do you calculate an illegal activity? Based on polls of people who voluntarily admit they are breaking the law? Solely off the amount of people you catch doing it?

Do either of those scenarios seem like a good way to make real calculations of something so in depth and important?

Since 2000 the population of California has went up approx 2.5 million. While all that time it is constantly being reported that California is losing people and jobs due to the high taxes etc. So if the working class is leaving in droves where's the 2.5 million coming from? How many are illegal? How would you know? Even the census doesn't ask citizenship.

Also during that time the sanctuary city has become much more of a thing that effects these types of numbers. Laws started being enforced that would of course naturally account for lower numbers of illegal immigrants being recorded because we prohibited law enforcement officers from even asking for proof of citizenship. Now they are even going to go so far as not recording on an actual arrest record.

I guess the point I was trying to make is numbers can be manipulated so easily that they can be almost meaningless and if numbers are the best argument you can make then I honestly don't think you've delved deep enough.

Excellent point, “Consequences”

There have been none for many decades now.

There are consequences if I forget to pay a traffic violation speeding ticket though, a warrant and go to jail.

Well said. We know the numbers are "off" and the sources are really just estimates. No-one talks about contrary statistics like the number of non-citizens in prison or how the estimated number of people in the country illegally doesn't seem to change.

From my experience, one side in this debate see themselves as virtuous and people who disagree aren't. "walls are immoral", "Berlin had a wall", on and on.

One word that describes democrat immigration policy: Irrational
Democrats reject push to alert ICE when illegal immigrants fail firearm background checks
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/de...gal-immigrants-fail-firearm-background-checks

Democrats this week approved legislation to require background checks for essentially all sales and transfers of firearms -- but rejected GOP-led efforts to amend the legislation to alert law enforcement authorities when gun buyers, including illegal immigrants, fail those background checks.

One word that describes democrat gun control policy: Ludicrous.
The man who just killed five people in Illinois purchased his handgun from a gun store. When a second background listed a prior felony and two other arrest for assault, instead of arresting and charging him with a crime, they asked him to turn his gun in.

We don't need more gun laws. We need enforcement.
