Many here hold the opinion that the best strategy is to acquire quality names and wait for inbound from an end user. If that is your strategy, is there much upside to listing your domain(s) at multiple marketplaces? Perhaps there's the chance that your domain will come up in someone's keyword search, but isn't the keyword search just a way to find second-rate names like "TheGreatName.com" when "GreatName.com" is already taken, or too expensive? Won't serious buyers just type in GreatName.com and proceed from the lander?

If you're selling GreatName.com, do you list at multiple marketplaces?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Buying a name and then just putting them on a marketplace will not lead to sales most of the time, especially with average names

You need to actively find end-users and approach them to buy your names.

The biggest mistake new domainers make is buying names and then listing them think they will sell, it doesn't work like that most of the time, unless you have spent x,xxx or xx,xxx on some really good names

Thanks for the reply. The names in your signature, such as VRSolution, are precisely the kind of name I'm referring to. The tech entrepreneur who buys that domain will have his/her sights set on it before turning on the computer that day. Do you list such names at multiple marketplaces? How about VRInternatonal? Don't you think anyone who would be a potential buyer would type that into the address bar directly?

More-relevant to your reply, how do you actively find end-users for such names when they'll likely go to startups?

Yes, I list them at all the marketplaces but Im also always looking for end-users all the time. Yes, they are likely to type it in their bowser, so if you check the homepage, they all have a "make offer" option.

A lot of the names I have are developed in other extensions so they are not necessarily startups, I've also owned a lot of my names way before some of them were developed.
