I received in a Uni Newsletter that .HOMES has been released without restrictions. Did anyone else see that and try to register any domains. It was tough going. Most were already taken or very premium prices from the registry. I did manage to get OFFSHORE and LAKESIDE for discounted reg fee :)

Whilst I was searching. I found RETAIL.DOMAINS available, so took that too :)

.homes slowly getting registered daily and increasing, could be a very good sign IMO. The question is who is buying them, your average person trying to flip them for bigger buck,or the real estate and broker people securing there footprint.

I have a question all, I noticed zip-coeds are getting snatch up any insight on why. Example 10013.homes taken along with other Expensive zip-codes ?

I think it is because they have a specific location, and work quite naturally with .homes extension. Some people might feel a bit strange typing 90210.homes (not being american, it's the only zip I can remember off the top of my head). They are very specific, in terms of geography, lifestyle, education. All valuable assets when seeking a home.

Interesting stuff stub....my wife actually grew up on a Rivershore Rd before she went off to college where I met her. It's a name that sort of came naturally to me as a lot of other real estate related names. I've pretty much lived on or around the water all my life. A good friend of mine use to be known as The H2O Realtor and I believe he use to own the .com by that name. I live on an Island where there are 400 homes and my friend, over about 20 years, sold 110 homes (some of them 2 and 3 times) on the island. This got me to thinking about Aqua Front Homes and Aqua Front Realty, and I'm now the proud owner of those .coms. Stub, I'm no smarter than the next guy/gal, but I've lived, worked and traveled enough to give me a little different perspective. I've learned to use some of the tools like with Namebio and HosterStats when analyzing a domain, but nothing compares to understanding the market, and good 'ol common sense:xf.wink: Enjoy your weekend!

Also interesting stuff :)

I was going to post what I've learned about "DUM" or domains under management, but instead I decided to post about .homes and political correctness. First I checked on left.homes and right.homes and Dominion (or someone) has them for sale as Premium domains. Then I checked on moral.homes, moderate.homes and maga.homes and they're all available to register. However, I did check on mega.homes and Dominion has it for sale for $6,250. I did end up buying one of the "political" .homes along with barefoot.homes, citizen.homes and labrador.homes. I believe I've now exceeded my one a day domain diet:xf.eek:

this thread is officially scaring me, everyone should stand back and take a breather. I have a few but if .com game is so hard, not sure what jackpot is coming form .homes. i

sorry if this sounds negative, but I know if a new business or product is on the market, they often give them away free to gain exposure and popularity. all we did is buy up and over price a massive portion of this undesired un used tld that might have a 199 usd " neat " factor to some.

I hope the brand new people move back to the .com with actual sales history on keywords
wishing everyone success regardless of my thoughts. cheers.

I agree with you,it only becomes worth it if your buying the .com along with .homes if your getting just the .homes then you will be waiting a very long time to sell those IMO.

Example hemplimehomes.com and hemplime.homes Got a offer for $750 bucks for both. The buyer made it clear that if it was just the .homes then he would never buy it.And Yes Im selling it lol

Wow ecomslice...you mean with over 1.3 Million Realtors, 1M Builders and hundreds of thousands of contractors in the US alone you don't think you can sell your .homes domains??? Tell me...what are you doing to try and sell your domains? You don't think there's a market? If you can't figure this out you really should move back to .coms. I plan to put .homes on the map where there are BILLIONS of dollars generated every year buying, selling, building, financing, mortgaging, painting, cleaning and fixing .HOMES

If you secure the.com with .homes , then there is way more value IMO, and yes I do agree 100% that Realtors, Builders are spending big bucks for SEO , marketing. If it takes them to buy the.homes to secure there brand and ranking to get customers they will do it. But this only happen if the people that are buying the .homes create a living breathing website to set a example of what .homes can do then there is a big chance of you getting bought out.The ones buying the .homes and sitting on them hoping a buyer will come along anytime soon wont happen. In order to create value the .homes need to establish a foot print with a website and get some rankings on Google IMO $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Well said.....keeping up with my "one a day" commitment to buy a .homes a day for the foreseeable future, I purchased two yesterday and one today; Varsity.homes, Johnson.homes and JohnsonCustom.homes. If anyone cares to know the why behind Johnson.homes and JohnsonCustom.homes send me a PM and I'll explain.....hint, as of the 2000 census there were 1.847M. Johnson's in the US alone. DomainGuy, I couldn't agree more about the need for exposure with these great names and I'm working on that, albeit more slowly than I'd like:xf.frown:

I haven't see but a few two word .homes domains sold, but there are a few that work especially if one of the two word is "luxury" or "custom" Take the word "luxury" for example. LuxuryHomes.com appraises for $21,776 at GD, LuxuryCustomHomes.com appraises for $3,293, Luxury.homes appraises for $2857 and LuxuryCustom.homes is valued ad <$100...go figure. I debated whether or not to buy it, but after talking to my brother-in-law who's been a custom home builder all his life there was no doubt in my mind to plop down $10 bucks for LuxuryCustom.homes:xf.wink:

The domain market is flooded with redundant extensions. If you missed .homes then you can try .property or .properties or something else - there are two dozens nTLDs dedicated to real estate. So people have plenty of options.
There is also .realtor, but the uptake seems to be very modest: https://ntldstats.com/tld/realtor
The numbers are low and the amount of developed sites must be quite lower too.

As for homes, hardly 3K registered which is amazingly low but reflects a very diluted market
