Just wondering what the general thoughts are about whether the recent trend to legalize marijuana will boost the prices of pot-related domains?

Is their any future in spliff, reefer & doobie? Got some like primespliff, primereefer, doobielink etc what's your take on it?
Probably not unless you go back in time to the 70's or 80's.

But they didn't have the interwebs back then so domains hadn't been invented. So you're pretty much SOL....

My 2 cents. Hopefully I'm wrong and you find buyer(s).

A tip that I learned.about niche keywords is to put the keyword into Namebio.com and check sales history

Yes.and the rumor/rumour is the "19th" hole become the "420" hole..

17th hole should be 420 time, given legalization was on the 17th...golfers can now shout out FORE.....TWENTY.

Anyone have any "upscale" or luxury marijuana/cbd/vape domains?

https://nypost.com/2019/02/15/barneys-aiming-to-be-the-hermes-of-weed/
...Or, as Beboe co-founder Scott Campbell says the accessories are for “ex-punk rock stoner kids who now make a little money and can buy nice stuff....”

...“We kind of made something that’s a little more grown up,” Campbell told MarketWatch, describing the brand’s clientele as “dinner party culture people.”

Stylish stoners can browse through items like a sterling-silver pot grinder for $1,475, $80 sterling-silver vaporizer pens, seven pre-rolled joints for $68, and $160 gift boxes complete CBD and THC vapes and edibles. There will also be CBD-infused beauty products from brands like Malin + Goetz and Body Vibes.

Meanwhile GoDaddy sent me an email saying I won at a price of $2069. I said no thanks but I’m wondering why they’re trying to collect $1010 more than the winning bid? @Joe Styler

Maybe the other bidder got booted from the system, and their bids with it?

That did happen which is when they offered it to me for $2069. I decided to check the history just now and see that it ended at $1059 with my bid. Why would they try to collect $1010 more than my high bid?!

We seriously need change with regards to the auction system especially adding of Bidder's id. Maybe Gd is waiting for a repeat of snapname's show of shame to get it's house in order

Ok, well if you said no thanks, then the next highest bidder gets the chance, and that would be their price point, as it seems it was a 2 way bidding war from that level last, since the top 2 bidders defaulted/passed, position 3 gets their top bid minus the top 2 bidders bids after that point.

So in the case of HempExtractor.com if the top bidder does not pay their $7,189 invoice, the next bidder gets it at $541, which is like salvageable to say the least, but let’s see it’s judgement day.

I said no at $2069. They never offered it to me at $1059, which is the price they show it ended at.

Yes, when you said no at $2,xxx, the top bidders bids, and your bids drop out, and the 3rd highest bidder gets at their last top bid spot, with both your bids erased. Since you passed, the person in position 3 gets a huge advantage.

Did you look at the pic I posted? Bids were wiped out and it went to me at $1059. Why would they charge $1010 more than what they show it ended at?

If you and the high bidder are the only two bidding from $1,059, once the high bidder declines then you should get it at $1,059 (unless the high bidder was Bidder 5 - in which case you should get it even lower). The only way they should offer it to you at $2,069 is if there was a different bidder right before $2,069 (not you and not the high bidder)

Yes, it is a weird one for sure as it ended at $2,225, without seeing the full bidding history it’s hard to figure out what happend.

Given the auction ended on the 10th, it would have defaulted on the 14th, and then the second chance offers would go out.
The original bid history should show the hierarchy of bids, and you just minus out , the players. The app, I don’t know how it’s programmed to output, I would log into the site, and see if it is showing something else.

The way it reads is he took the second chance buy at $1059, it doesn’t add up.

The way it should technically work is if it was a 3 way bidding war, and top 2 passed, bidder 3 is probably in at $1,059, and maybe they bought it. Since top bidder defaulted, and you didn’t pay for it, so bidder 3 is next logical chance. The app is known to have functional limitations, just add one more, it’s confusion to second chance offers. The full bid history will tell the entire story.

Bidder 3, must have been right under your $2069 bid mixed into the top 2 bidders, causing that high second chance offer.

What the app shows, as second top bidder winning, and the logical course of action differ greatly.

I looked at the history via desktop. It shows as ended and sold at $1059 which is my bid. Bidder 7 was at $1034. Not sure why they would try to charge me $2069? Not cool!

Btw, they show my bid history which went to $2200. After removing all the bids from the high bidder, it goes to $1059.

Was it just you two bidders on the final stretch, or was there another bidder in the mix, if not then you do have a case for sure. As in a 2 way bidding war, it usually drops ways down, to minus out $150 for a top bidder default doesn’t seem correct unless someone else was mixed in the bids. Given the bidding history has been edited with the top bidders bids erased, only one man can answer that question now, and I think he has weekends off, or you can call the auction department.

Starting to seem like these deadbeats are other domainers simply running each other up to inflate the price, but when they get stuck with the win they welsh. Are you seeing this in other niches or just with mj related names? Regardless, it's a major problem that needs to be addressed. Cannabisx is the next one to watch with an already inflated price, imo.
