.HOMES re-released

I received in a Uni Newsletter that .HOMES has been released without restrictions. Did anyone else see that and try to register any domains. It was tough going. Most were already taken or very premium prices from the registry. I did manage to get OFFSHORE and LAKESIDE for discounted reg fee :)

Whilst I was searching. I found RETAIL.DOMAINS available, so took that too :)

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Reserved names are not counted as registered, as they are not in the zone file. If you guys are interested in a list of the premium names for .HOMES and other Dominion TLDs, I will work on getting a list.

It would be interesting to know how many domains they have reserved, because they have reserved so many. But a list of the domains themselves would be helpful when looking to register .homes domains.

I know they've reserved some names because I'm aware of one I had mentioned to them I was interested in and they now have the same name reserved. Maybe they're holding it just for me(y) I know of some other names they have reserved as well.

Thanks again Stub!

You are always welcome :) Sneaky little slobs. Reserving a domain after you discussed it with them. But you did break a cardinal (funny I heard that name somewhere before) rule by talking about the domains you may or intend to purchase. Let that be a lesson to you :)

What's sort of interesting is that I put the name in a email to them of which I still have a copy, so they can't say they didn't know about it. I even shared with them what I believed the best use for it might be. At the time, just about 6 months ago, I could have bought the name for less than a hundred bucks. I'm going to check to see what they'll sell it for now. If the price is a lot more, I won't buy it, but it certainly adds to my credibility in more ways than one:xf.wink:

Jungle.homes was on my list too, but added:

Yankee.homes

Rembrandt
.homes

Bridgewater.homes

This is keeping with my promise to add a .homes a day for the foreseeable future, and should carry me through the weekend. Note, Rembrandt.homes is perfect for a home painting:artist: contractor.

You should be mindful of your renewals. That $10 registration fee is going to triple to $30 for renewals. That would mean you are lookiing at $11k renewals on 365 domains next year. See how quickly people can lose a lot of money, fast.

Maybe or maybe not. There is probably a reason there has never been website on ecobuildinghomes.com according to archive.org. Although they generally are not the arbiter as to whether a domain has ever been registered before, or not.

Thanks Stub, but I'm not your typical domainer. I've not always been a contrarian, but after Verisign confirmed my suspicions about this industry in November, 2017, I'm more of a contrarian now than ever. And NamesCon only added to my contrarianism...wow I didn't even think that was a word until I just typed it, and it wasn't red-flagged:xf.smile: I know I can't share with you my plans here on NamePros, but I plan to play by the 'ol 80/20 rule whereby I'll probably drop 80% of the domains that come up for renewal. I'm not about to "hoard" domains as Verisign refers to it, but I plan to sell a lot more than the 1-3% "average" that domainers sell from their portfolios each year. Thanks for the concern Stub, but I will tell you about another .homes domain I bought today your post about "Waterfront.homes" inspired me to buy. I bought Rivershore.homes and it's .com equivalent RivershoreHomes.com. It's certainly not Waterfront.homes, but with literally tens of thousands of homes viewing rivers around the world, either a realtor, a builder, a contractor will love to own these domains. And if you think these "end users" will come to me before I locate them, I've failed my contrarianism test:xf.wink: Thanks again Stub.

Your welcome. My comment, although directed at you, was not meant only for your consumption. It was a reminder to us all, the triple priced renewals are only 1 short year away. I get the 80/20 theory. I also use some version of it for some section of my domain purchases in .com. But for these expensive renewals, I decided to try to stick to registering only a few domains, which I would be happy to pay the renewals for. My theory here is more like the 20/80 theory :)

As a matter of fact. When I noticed that waterfront.homes was reserved, I went looking for other "waterfront properties". Almost all .homes domains containing water (and it's substitutes) and proximity (and it's substitutes) were almost all taken. I found only lakeside.homes and rivershore.homes were about the only 2 names available. I did a google search for "lakeside" and "rivershore" and found that "lakeside" had 93 million listings and "rivershore" had 382 thousand listings. So I took "lakeside" and left "rivershore" unregged. My 20/80 theory in action :) I think it's also a nice name. But felt "lakeside" had more potential. I'm happy to see you register "rivershore". This is a true story. Not re-manufactured fiction.

Interesting stuff stub....my wife actually grew up on a Rivershore Rd before she went off to college where I met her. It's a name that sort of came naturally to me as a lot of other real estate related names. I've pretty much lived on or around the water all my life. A good friend of mine use to be known as The H2O Realtor and I believe he use to own the .com by that name. I live on an Island where there are 400 homes and my friend, over about 20 years, sold 110 homes (some of them 2 and 3 times) on the island. This got me to thinking about Aqua Front Homes and Aqua Front Realty, and I'm now the proud owner of those .coms. Stub, I'm no smarter than the next guy/gal, but I've lived, worked and traveled enough to give me a little different perspective. I've learned to use some of the tools like with Namebio and HosterStats when analyzing a domain, but nothing compares to understanding the market, and good 'ol common sense:xf.wink: Enjoy your weekend!

Waterside homes

Wow! Congrats DomainCare....how in the world did Stub and I miss that one. That should have been a natural for me because because the "commercial" area in downtown Norfolk Virginia is called Waterside.

Also, I use to own a little stock in a company called Waterside Capital that went belly up. Regardless, good luck with your domain and if I can help you in any way because of my connections to "Waterside" let me know. Thanks for sharing(y)
