Hello Friends,

We have decided to rebrand our business and to completely redesign our website.

We have chosen to operate at EdgyBranding.com. We realize that we are not simply selling domain names, we are selling brands and assisting with brand development and brand strategy. We know that our brands can give businesses, products and startups a competitive edge... Hence, EdgyBranding.com.

We will be limiting our featured offerings to only our best brands. We also will have a sale section where we will aggressively price brands which we value at less than $1,000. The majority of our premium brands will be priced between $2,000 - $6,000.

We have opted to use PayPal to facilitate payments. PayPal offers our customers the security of PayPal Purchase Protection. In addition, consumer financing options are available, to qualified customers, through PayPal Credit.

While the EdgyBranding.com website is currently up and running, we will continue to expand and improve upon it in the coming months.

I would so greatly value your thoughts and feedback.

Wishing you all the very best,

Claude Dauman

Why did you originally choose domains90210?

Go for DaumanDomains.com or Daumans.com (Dauman's) :)

Thank you for your suggestion. I do own Dauman.com... It's the first domain name I purchased, way back in 1996 :) That's a very good idea. I greatly value your feedback.

Our offices were located in Beverly Hills, 90210 for many years. I lived in that zip code too for quite some time. That influenced the decision. While we sold a great many names under that moniker, looking back, perhaps it was not the very best naming decision. Never too late to reevaluate and to reconfigure.

Perfect, if you do! I'd build the whole brand around the play of your last name and the word Domain. You don't even actively mention it, but some people will appreciate it, if in the about us there is some info about the founder, Mr. Dauman. And 6 letters with some story/meaning definitely beat 12 letters with "ing" and edgy instead of edge. Edgy has a bit of edgy/prickly feel to it.

edg·y
Dictionary result for edgy
/ˈejē/
adjective
  1. 1.
    tense, nervous, or irritable.
    "he became edgy and defensive"
synonyms: tense, nervous, on edge, highly strung, anxious, apprehensive, uneasy, ill at ease, unsettled, unstable; More
  2. 2.
    INFORMAL
at the forefront of a trend; experimental or avant-garde.
"their songs combine good music and smart, edgy ideas"

"ing" works for me for one worders, for example, I own convening.com, but wouldn't build business on word+word+ing.

A much easier name to remember, Claude. All the best to your new venture (or shall I say "new brand"?)

Agree here completely.

Also I would go with Dauman.com

I recommend you use Dauman, just like how I am considering migrating my marketplace to my family name domain.

It is my family name and what's better than promoting yourself using your exact family name? Transparency wise, it adds value to your business. Your e-mail address would look good too.

Thank you Jay! That's very true. I greatly appreciate your feedback.

Spend $500 in the aftermarket and acquire a better brand, both those brands are subpar in getting end user attention.

Dauman.com sounds like domain, but your going to create a great deal of confusion initially.

How is it as domainers try to sell others names to have them appeal better with end users, but in this situation you are taking the cheap way out with reg fee type branding.

Just what I wanted to say about the Dauman vs Domain thing. I dont know if it can sustain in the long run when you might want to do raido etc. With that said, it is better than the first and old option. As for edge, not with standing the dictionary meanings, I think it is the best option of the three.

If you are selling brand names to others then first you must get 1 for yourself too..!!

You could brand your market place with your own name, but I think the spelling could cause some confusion. Of the 2 choices in the poll, I do like EdgyBranding better. BTW, I visited your market place - great visual site! Is that your own development, or a service/paid subscription? If it's your own development, you might be able to sell a paid subscription to use your platform...

I like EdgyBranding best provided that it is descriptive and authentic for the services you plan to offer. The term is easy to remember and spell and suggests your niche. However to me it suggests a bit of outside the box approach so would not use it if that is not what you do.

I do like the idea of using your own name and play on words, but agree with those worried about spelling confusion.

Do you sell mainly 2 word com? If so having a 2 word com as your name nicely models the value.

Best wishes whatever you choose!

Bob

Good luck dealing with chargebacks. Yes you'll win most of the disputes but not all.

Both are a bit edgy IMO. If you’re not willing to spend money on your own brand, then you surely can’t expect your clients to?

Thank you for your feedback and for your kind words!!! We designed and are developing the website in house. That's a really interesting concept. I will investigate that further. Thanks again!
