I Tried Sedo Auctions - I Will Never Do It Again

I received a $90 offer for a domain at Sedo, I pushed it into auctions, it was my first time to try their auctions. The domain was sold for $120 in the auction so I expected to receive $100 after Sedo Commission.

However I was surprised by this:
Sale Price: 120 USD
Sedo's Commission: - 60 USD
VAT (19%): - 11 USD
Net amount to be credited: 49 USD

Say that again?! Really Sedo?!

I will never touch their auctions again, lesson learned!

Sorry to hear you were surprised by Sedos charges. It is clear in their terms and conditions, You would have had to pay the same minimum charge even if you had accepted a direct offer. Their minimum charge makes a sale of less than around $250 to expensive. I've never had a sale that low at Sedo but if I did, I would use the Sedo charges as a response to any low-ball offer to ramp-up the price to a $250 minimum offer

on top of that Sedo will send the payment on Euro not USD although the auction was in USD (because I am in EU) So after converting at bad rate at Paypal I will get less than 49 :banghead:

Yes I forgot to remove one of my domains from their parking and god knows how they managed to send a "Wire Transfer" for 5 Euros to a bank where I had an old account.

It costed me around 10 USD to go to bank and sign the paperwork in order to release the payment + forex charges.
