Hi Everyone,

I am basically web developer and have been working online since 15-20 years. Many of you might be very younger than me but must have great experience of selling domains while others might be in my age group and must have made millions.

I am not a person who wants to sell first domain within a day and make 1000s of dollars. I really want to start it properly and already added few domains in afternic to see how all these things work.

I would be interested to know, what things should i keep in mind as i am now stepping into domaining industry. Please do guide me. And what type of domain names should i consider to invest in.

Like i was told that "typicalbank.com" is rubbish domain and i won't be able to sell it but ofcourse without experience i purchased few domains so chances are high that 99% of them might be rubbish. So is it really that only specific type of domains are sold for good value ? I was thinking someone someday might need exactly what we have and we can then get the price we want ?

Some may disagree with what I am going to say... In my opinion, the industry is dead. There were some efforts galvanising the corpse, but... nothing is sellable. Do not waste your time. People who post in here are just addicts :) like me :) We are sick :) and cannot accept realities, cannot realise that newGTLDs killed the market.

You’ve been on NP for 6+ years and have not sold one domain, so obviously for ‘you’, it’s dead. But for the many others buying and selling domains, not so.

As for the OP, read here as much as you can. Watch as many Domain Sherpa videos as you can. Read the blogs on Domaining. Read what’s selling on dnJournal and NameBio. Don’t waste your money regging till you know what and why domains sell. And don’t listen to clowns here that don’t know anything, but can’t wait to share their ‘lack of knowledge’ with others.

I can repeat for those who are stuck in the past. The industry is dead. There will be no more sales like Vodka.Com, and penny deals for finished crap are not a business, I am sorry :) Time wasting.

When did it die? No one told me about it.
