I have an idea! Who wants to have a contest and see who can make the best hand registration during the month of February? You have to create it during the month of February. As long as it says created 2/2019 it could have been a name born before that died and lost its age. Let me be clear, for my February contest the name has to be a new hand reg.
Any sponsors in the house? @namesilo @Epik.com @toughdomains @NameJetGM @name.com

Here are the rules of this DOT COM HAND REG FEBRUARY 2019 contest:
1. Hand registration during the month of February 2019
2. You may submit up to 3 domain names.
3. Each name must have its OWN reply, so if you want to submit 3 names, submit three replies
4. I am excluding myself from entering the contest since I am the judge!
5. I will narrow down to 3 names, and pick the winner.

What do you win?
Number one, props and clout here at Namepros.
I will personally pay up to $10 to add an extra year on the domain. That means dot com only for this contest.

Out of respect for the idea man, he should definitely have his say for his contest. But I certainly see the other side of the coin, both with the panel of judges as well as everyone voting. The contest could simply have multiple awards each month:

1) Contest Winner (awarded by Want2learn)
2) Judge's Choice (awarded by a pro panel)
3) Forum Favorite (awarded by votes)

That gives more people a chance and everyone will be happy.

Want2learn is paying the $ 10 so he owe the right to choose what he likes !

Very good idea but I'm NOT in .. because of the last line I've wrote .. if I'm in, then I will be as if Im sucking up to him already  !

Also, public poll is a great idea, but will be the most liked domain but with no renewal!

This is a great idea!

I think a community vote on the winner would be a nice touch though.

@Want2learn

So are you starting a new thread for this? Or should we submit our domains in this thread or to you via PM?

Many uses:
  • Livestock management (see swinerobotics.com)
  • Meat processing machinery
  • Harley-Davidson electric consumer goods; Harley electric scooter (Harleys are sometimes called "hogs")
  • Harley-Davidson manufacturing equipment
  • Electronic sex toys (a large male member is sometimes called a "hog")
  • Robot pig toys
  • ...and various nondescript uses, like how "PorkBun" is a domain registrar and it works because it's a fun name.

I would be willing to coordinate a community vote based competition on a separate thread.

@Want2learn, would you be opposed to that?

curious... so is there going to be a Community Based Comp ?
i cant understand ANY contest wheres there;s only one judge.
kind of makes no sense and a waste of $8 to have ONE person judge anything. great idea for the contest though.

I'd be happy to coordinate and pull some feedback from others on the best way to do it. Just don't want to step on the toes of @Want2learn since he got the ball rolling.

I was even thinking that every participant could pay a few bucks into the contest pool, and the top three finishers (based on community vote, panel vote, or a combo) would get the cash. Piggybacking on OP's idea as well, if we could get a registrar sponsor to double the amount of the prize pool, we could agree to deposit all winnings as account credits to that registrar.

Innergystic.com - Possible enduser would be a luxury spa?

Was playing with "energy", "synergy" root words for 5 mins.

Anyway, that's my entry.

Agree 100% with these thoughts. No toe stepping. Its just a revised improvement on an all ready great concept ! Cant see how anyone would be offended by this ?
One mind view is not the way to oversee any creative juncture imo.
i was once in art school.
the best days of school was when your work was put up on the BIG Screen for the entire school to see , it was then your fellow piers and facility "judged' your work. The point of it was CREATIVE CRITICISM from as many views as possible. It was a great way to view others work and ideas. The best was the invaluable opinions from all , both Positive and Negative. It was all a great way to reflect on your own work.

One mind to view ALL is just a waste of time. The contest is a Great idea , the concept of a single person "Judging" is just horrible.

it would be rad if the dude who had the og idea @Want2learn would consider a revised judging format. u cant deny the creator of a concept. just out of curiosity ? why are u opposed to having more then 1 mind behind the final outcome ?

I agree with everything but the underlined portion . . . and my disagreement is actually just contextual! If my contest had a really large/substantial prize I would want to have a collection of minds judging. And someone else previously pointed out not liking my hand regs, which is fair! It is possible I would prefer a name that has limited upside. For an extra year, $10 or less, I think eh what's the big deal? Furthermore, there have been really good suggestions . . . I felt like if I started changing things all of a sudden, it wouldn't really be my contest anymore. So I am gonna stick to my guns, so to speak for February. We will see how it goes . . .
