Appraisals are appreciated. Also, are common phrases hot?

3 word name. One can always come up with such a name and register it instead of paying $500 or so.
I'd say chances of selling this is less. I wouldn't have hope from this name. However, there is a twitter hashtag and a song. Approach them and see if they are interested!

Thank you Arpit. So you're telling me that 3 word common phrases are not sellable.

Generally the shorter the better. If the phrase fix a drink was hot and popular you would be fine having the 3 words. Fix and a are plenty short enough themselves. Drink isn't super long either. I think the problem with this domain isn't that it is 3 words, but that fixadrink just isn't a top end name. Who is going to brand and build around fixing a drink? Id rather going to a "watering hole" to fix a drink or a favorite pub to have someone else fix me a drink.

Having said all of that, if a concept where the consumer fixes their own drinks, then you may be on to something. I think its a Hail Mary situation.

I think @Want2learn pegged it right on the head. Phrase domains most certainly DO have value .. even if they are a bit longer than traditional domains of same value .. but it needs to either be a known phrase, or a very commercially viable phrase with few or no alternatives.

At first FixADrink seems like it would be a good one ... but after stopping for a minute to ask where the business application or monitizeable call to actions is .. you end up realising that it isn't all that strong. Not horrible .. but in tune with FixAMeal above at $888 (I'd say FixADrink was a little lower in value) .. which at end user level is not really high enough to merit investing in given the usual ratio of domains that sell at that quality in a portfolio.

Just to show something very similar .. I'd personally say GrabADrink, even if longer, would be significantly more valuable than FixADrink, because there is a commercial demand to get people into pubs and bars. Clubs, Pubs and Bars most certainly do advertise, and more importantly, there are list/index sites out there that list all local places to grab a drink. In fact, I'd even say LetsGrabADrink would have more value than FixADrink. Phrase domains are very tricky .. you really need to be sure you get the correct version, tense and form.

All that said .. FixADrink isn't a horrible domain .. I'd hesitate if deciding to renew it or not. It's one of those domains that objectively I know I should drop .. but probably would renew at the last minute ... lol

I think its a Hail Mary situation.

I'd say a Bloody Mary situation - without enough spice in it, no appeal.

On the other side, there is a market for people having packages sent to them with ingredients and instructions for making a meal, just not drinks, at least not yet anyway. Maybe CBD and cannabis drinks will change this.

Hey guys thanks for the input, it is very much appreciated. I first found this name in one of @Ategy.com 's daily closeouts list. It was still available but I contemplated buying it and I needed more time looking for potential markets and uses for this name. By the time that I checked other 'candidate' domains, I decided to buy it but at that time the domain wasn't available anymore. The next day came with an additional budget so I thought I'd check if it was in someone's cart but they then decided to abandon the purchase and it was sitting there waiting for me to take it.

Now I know that it being available for a considerable time after @Ategy.com 's post may seem discouraging since this means plenty of -closeouts- domainers passed on it, not to mention the time it was at expired auctions. I still got it. It's a nice marketable phrase in a blooming industry imo.

No, no, no.

think a little.... Fix a Drink..what is that....an energy drink?... no...a soft drink..nop..is about an alcoholic drink.. then

fix a pool is not the same market for Fix a Drink...fix a meal neither is it.

the alcoholic beverages market is very difficult, but also, it is a very broad, ambiguous word, that works for a music does not mean it's important, in fact, having 11 million view on a musical theme is not the definition of success on youtube (music)

The phrase had nothing to do with music since the 1950's. It had been used industrially and commonly through bar talk. It can also be used a a promotional campaign for which I can use the lease option @Epik.com. I don't base my decision on a youtube video that's for sure.

I know bro that's why I use -janson when googling the phrase.

Great name for an app. I don't know how many bars I have been in and they don't know how to fix a drink.

There is also a booming business in 'cocktail machines' which this name suits well imo. They call themselves 'cocktail solutions providers'. They fix drinks.

For real?

Bar staff: "Hello I am your designated cocktail solution provider".
Me: "Well ain't that just fine and dandy. Now Fix a drink!"
