Terms Greek to Me

Again, despite all the stars, l’m truly a domaining newbie, thanks to a more-than-11-year-sabbatical.

I see certain terms frequently in Domain Requests that are truly Greek to me, ironically, as l’m an upper-level English instructor. Specifically,

Brandable (I assume this word is somehow related to BrandBucket.com),
keyword, (believe it or not)
CCC,
cbd.coms
CVCV.com
WTB
BP/BB
AR
Aged
Club.com
GEO

Yes, if l researched for who-knows-how-long, l could probably find the meanings of at least most—but I’ve discovered the extremely helpful nature of NamePro members.
I also realize l could contact the most-helpful NP Support team—but I’m pretty-sure there are more than a few fellow members who are in the same predicament as I.

Lew Riley

P.S. Just read in LA Times that 78 percent of America families live paycheck-to-paycheck.
I was shocked. Maybe that’s one reason why the popularity of domaining has mushroomed.

Hey, Lew,

That’s you, dummy! I found about half the answers (mostly letter-meanings) by stumbling on the following most informative post, published seven years ago:

The Domaining Dictionary
Located in Domain Beginners started by Bannen, Jan 21, 2012.

Now if I only knew how to make a link! As I mentioned, l’m technologically-illiterate but an incredibly brilliant upper-level English instructor.
And modest, too.

Different strokes for different folks, so to speak.. A couple of common spelling mistakes occur repeatedly in NamePro’s enlightening posts:

—A LOT is NOT one word
—Lose the second “o” in loose and looser.

Hey, more than a few of the world’s most-successful people are miserable spellers.

Brandables / Brandable Domains
Basically it could either be single dictionary word ( apple.com, tesla.com ), made-up words ( careful combination of letters - google.com, coke.com, zomato.com etc ) or a short combination of keywords ( MicroSoft.com ). Here are some examples of brandable domains.

Your assumption that they are related to BrandBucket is wrong. It is simply a marketplace based on brandables. There are a few other marketplaces as well eg. Brandpa.

Keyword Domain
Simple combination of dictionary words - FireBird, BlockChain.

CCC
C could mean either a number or an alphabet.
A2A.com is a CCC.

cbd.coms
cbd stands for cannabidoil domains.

CVCV.com
C stands for consonant and V stands for vowel
Moto.com would be a CVCV.com

WTB
Want to Buy
It is a general acronym. Definitely not limited to domaining.

BP/BB
Brandpa.com OR BrandBucket.com

AR
Augmented Reality
Also could stand for something else depends on OP ( Original Poster )

Aged

An aged domain. Not a new registration.

Club.com
I dont know what this means.

GEO
Domain based on a geographic location.

FloridaDentist.com would be called a GEO.

There is a lot of information on domaining on the internet but NamePros is the best. Use the search button as much as you can. Great discussions and in-depth knowledge on all-things-domaining.

Welcome back :xf.cool::xf.cool:

@Lewstar You can post in this practice thread all you want without worrying about errors. It is made especially for that purpose.
Information on NP ( NamePros ) is structured pretty well. If you go to the homepage and scroll down you will find that everything you will is neatly categorized.
