Yes, there is an admin area of course, where you can select categories to display on the home page, but honestly saying it does not play a great role, because all the traffic comes to product pages. So, there is no point to spend much time on trying to build a nice main page of a site.

Good Idea your projects! I've many domains shopping-oriented, and I thought to develop all of them with amazon affiliate program.
But I don't want to use wordpress or any plugin, I want to use some library in PHP for backend and bootstrap for front end. A custom project.
But I'm not sure, maybe effort for development is much higher than money back return with affiliation.
What do you think?

I am working with WP only and can recommend using WorPress only for building Amazon affiliate sites. I have not heard any successfull sories yet about using other systems for Amazon affiliates. About 3-4 years ago I tried Associate-o-matic engine that is not in WP, but I don't think that it is still working now...

****ALL INTERESTED BUYERS BEWARE ****

I made the mistake of buying this theme and having OP setup everything on my domain name, pilatesworkout.net. Just received an e-mail from google after 2 months of 0 results and 0 traffic and could not index the site stating that -

"Google has detected that your site violates our Webmaster Guidelines. Because this critical issue lowers the quality of search results for users, Google has prevented the offending pages from showing in Google Search results. This manual spam action has been applied topilatesworkout.net/ . To reinstate your site, you must significantly change the content to conform to our guidelines. Only after making those changes should you submit a reconsideration request in order to have your the content included in Google Search results."

Your sites sound good, also with the way you did with affiliate of Amazon, but I have checked your trade review, could you please explain when the buyer have problem with google:
"Google has detected that your site violates our Webmaster Guidelines. Because this critical issue lowers the quality of search results for users, Google has prevented the offending pages from showing in Google Search results."
