Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

I was the seller :)

That is so awesome you broke the $2000 barrier and your VR name got listed on DNJ. I hope to make the list some day with VRdraft. The big Pros still don’t think that much of virtual reality domains yet. Hoping that slowly changes with sales like yours. Congrats

Stay far away from .ICU and other weird new extensions. Focus on .COM and strong cctld's if you want to sell domains

Thanks for the advice. I swooped in and regged all the best ICUs right out the gate last summer, and now I'm indeed strictly COM. Got my varsity and my JV teams. My ICU JV team is full of all-stars, and that's pretty good for a brand-new program IMO. I'm going to give them time to develop.

My COMs are coming along well also, thanks to the great content of this forum. Thanks again.

I'm going to have to agree with GC on ICU. We've blocked the domain in our spam filters at my day job because we were getting hammered by spammers using ICU domains.

@TestCase was this a recent action? There have been some big spikes in the number of ICU regs over the past month. Just wondering whether the spam coincides with these bulk regs or whether it's been going on for longer.

I can't swear to when we specifically added the block, but I'm pretty sure it was within the last 4-12 weeks. I know it was done prior to Christmas but not sure exactly when.

We moved a few of our sites to new servers between the beginning of November and Christmas. I know the block did not exist on our original server.

By the way, when I say "blocked" I actually mean any email that comes from an ICU domain is immediately dumped in to a catch-all spam folder. We manually review all email marked as spam as occasionally a new client will use a tld that falls outside of our normal expectations, i.e. COM, NET, US, + a few others. I'll try to remember to look at it when I'm back in the office on Monday and see whether we are still being bombarded with spam from ICU domains.

I wonder if Lucid Domains regrets rejecting that 6 figure offer for SexVR.com...

Nah, it’s good. It’s in the bank. VR, AR and XR is so much bigger than people realise.
