Hello,

Okay many of you know me by now. I want to thank everyone that has helped me expand my knowledge base on this market sector of the internet. I have acquired a master list of brand/technology/pharmaceutical/business/sayings domain names that I want appraised for sale to end-users. Now, I don't want you to take into account the fact that these were all hand registrations I made for $1 each with network solutions. If you do not understand a name, don't complete your appraisal without researching it, because without a doubt it very well may be the most expensive name. If your starting your appraisal and your coming up with numbers under $1000 than you are wrong. I am sorry lol. I don't mean to be so close minded, and clearly misguided in this appraisal request, but I am trying to see what the most is I can get. Pretend we are selling all these names to end-users for the sake of argument.

Okay because neuroport.com is going for $3000. Do you know any type of real world application that could be describing?
Could you give us some context? I personally don't know anything about neuroscience or neuro technology.

I did Google the term, but it doesn't seem to be used anywhere. What this probably means is that you're banking on this being a future tech brand name that a startup in the neuroscience industry will want to adopt. Could it have value? Maybe... but you just need to understand that the name is a lottery ticket, which you may have to wait a long time to cash in (if ever).

Buying names like this is fine, but you do need to choose carefully to increase your chances of an eventual sale.

You are asking for help appraising your new domain names
then you say this...

"If your starting your appraisal and your coming up with numbers under $1000 than you are wrong"

Ok, everything you have is worth 1k each since thats what you need to hear.

Did that help you at all?

I have never seen anyone write this and I have read hundreds of appraisal request threads. Maybe even a thousand.

People dont give rules when asking for help, just sayin.

Try a different approach and I bet you will get some better answers/valuations.

Much more importantly though since you seem interested in domaining...
If you want to make it in this game I suggest you are less into arguing and more into learning.

True your right. Well theirs a reason why we both took it and theirs traffic. So maybe just maybe your evaluation on everything was wrong too.

Some trademarked domains like facebook or youtube are registered in hundreds of TLDs. There is a reason people registered them - because they are idiots.

Now stop with this nonsense get a grip.

Okay, its just annoying when people who have no idea what they are talking about ruin the subtext that other people have to read. (You could be a master with domain names, but know nothing about the significance of my names) like.. if you didnt blink twice at a few names its like how adept are you at this if you can only recognize value in what you know personally.

I'll assume that comment was aimed at me, since I mentioned not personally being familiar with neuroscience.

But that's why I asked for some context. Why does the name have value for you?

In the field of psychology, the Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which people of low ability have illusory superiority and mistakenly assess their cognitive ability as greater than it is. The cognitive bias of illusory superiority comes from the inability of low-ability people to recognize their lack of ability. Without the self-awareness of metacognition, low-ability people cannot objectively evaluate their competence or incompetence.

that is a trademark, making it plural doesn't make much sense. Type that on google all you will see is the singular version, which is already trademarked.

Does that mean they can take it from me?

If you put it on use for a similar product and services yes. But if not I don't think so, yet I am not an expert on this field.

I wasnt thinking about you specifically. I have the name neurocable.com, and neuroports.com, because its a big possibility in the upcoming years to be able to have surgery done to create a port for you to connect something into your brain for using bionics, some new types of brain scans, perhaps connecting to the internet, or regulating sleep, or getting you out of a coma, or other neuro research on animals too. Im missing at least 5 points here, but yeah.

So thats perfect, because they will want to buy it from me when they get bigger.

And you're banking that these will be called neuroports? I mean... If you've done your research and concluded that the name will be widely used, then yeah, maybe you have something of value.

I haven't invested in many future tech names, but the ones I have bought already match names and keywords that are being referenced online for that specific industry/tech. If you're hoping to get the jump on others by coining the term yourself, that's one way to go... I just think you'll need to rely on a lot of luck.

I see you just opened my mind to something... I can know the top search entries by hourly, daily, week... so if you see what’s most searched, you can have a chance of making a name that has a high possibility of attracting traffic, and than a buyer? That’s what you do?

God no, I'm pretty basic when it comes to researching future tech stuff. I just read articles and catch stuff on the radio occasionally.

Aside from that I stick to exact match products and services and brand names that I like.
