BrandBucket adjusted average sales price in November was $3,044

BrandBucket sent out their December newsletter today. It seems after taking out sales over $10,000 that the average sale was $3,044 up from $2,959 in October. Two word .coms continue to be the top selling category. Misspellings continue to make up around 12% of all sales. A Quick Look Back at November The operations category remained at the top stop for yet another month! Removing sales … [Read more...]

@Andreia Soares Received a newsletter from BB this morning. It includes an image which may give a little idea on November sale stats represented by piecharts and so. Unfortunately the image is of a very low resolution, so the text on the image is hardly readable. Is it possible to share a higher resolution image here please.

Thank you.

BB seems to have a concept called "NameMyCompany" wherein potential clients submit a requirement with a budget range and a little details of what type of name they are looking for.

It is an interesting concept but I am looking at a lot of archived requests with a status of "Request is closed. Domain is not chosen". So, has anyone actually sold a domain using this service ?

I've used up all my submission credits with BB. Got 40% of names submitted approved. Wondering if there is any free way to submit more names? They stopped their old "credit scheme". Not really into paying for additional submissions only to be turned down on 60% of them.

40% acceptance is great on BB. Don't worry about the rest of the names, put them on Afternic, you'll get similar sales%, but with lower average price.

I have had all my names on Afternic - it's a decent platform and I get some sales through them. But I've found BB gets me a higher price so I'd prefer to get my higher end brandables listed there. I realize 40% is a good acceptance rate. I think BB should allow sellers who have high acceptance rates to submit for free (since we're obviously pretty good at not wasting their time with lower end names).

BrandBucket adjusted average sale was $2,938 in December

BrandBucket sent out their January newsletter today and average sale amount for December was $2,938, (sales above $10,000 removed). November's average sale amount was $3,044. Keyword sales continue to outsell invented names 58% to 42%. BrandBucket could do a better job when they breakdown categories by giving the exact keywords instead of terms like operations and evocative. Many people have commented … [Read more...]

How do you transfer a domain name from one BrandBucket account to another one? I don't see any link/or button

What they don't share is how many of the purchased domain names were from people browsing the marketplace, or were type-in traffic from the domain that was then purchased through their platform.

Could many of those sales been direct sales or for a fair lower commission if the domain was on a different platform?

Why would they want to tell you that? :)

@NameWell
At this point you should write to BB support and they will handle the transfer.

I have just recently stumbled on this thread and realize this post was awhile ago but isn't that almost exactly the same as the model SquadHelp started with except in BB case presume answers would only be names already listed with them. Interestingly SquadHelp, while maintaining that, have also moved into a BB like brandable marketplace as well.

Exactly.

It is impossible to make a meaningful comparison between a marketplace like SH that mandates using their landing pages, and requires exclusivity (may not list anywhere else), because there is no way to list simultaneously the same domains at SH and...someplace else.

The closest comparison you could do is to list the EXACT same domains at say, some other marketplace, using their landing pages, and NOT listing anyplace else, for say, six months, and then listing the SAME domains at SH for a consecutive six month period (or, vice versa, listing at SH first, and then someplace else), however even this test wouldn't necessarily be reliable, because what if a few names sold at the place you first listed them at, during the first six month period, and then none sold at the second marketplace. Would this mean that the first marketplace is better, or simply that the better names sold off first and what was left wasn't saleable?

It really doesn't take a genius to realize that a claim like
<<If my calculation correct SquadHelp sold more domains than BP [or BB]>>

or anything along those lines is completely unverifiable, and more importantly, irrelevant even if it were verifiable. Since SH is an exclusive marketplace, that means that names listed there may not be listed elsewhere so it's absurd to claim that SH is selling more domains, even if this were true, the domains listed at SH are not listed for sale anywhere else, so, what are you comparing anyway? You're not comparing the same domains.

Unless there is a way to compare the exact same set of domains listed at both SH and someplace else simultaneously, you will always be left guessing as to whether one marketplace or the other is better.

With these places that mandate that you use their landing pages AND be exclusive to them (list in no other marketplace) it is impossible to know whether the name sold just because of people landing on the landing page or anything at all to do with their marketplace.

Yup. Very few seem to know about or use this feature on BB. The concept seems to be a fail at BB due to the process being set to manual mode. Same concept is a hit at SH, in fact their entire business model seems to be based on this concept. Because it improvised. SH went ahead and applied some AI to the process, making the submissions automatic.

Can anyone advise me on the proper method of removing my domains from Brand Bucket? They've been there for well over a year, lots of visits but not one bite on them. I think its time to get them back into my hands... I just dont know how and I assume there is a 30-day window where if it sells then BB gets their fee?

just tell them you want to remove the names
they want you to keep them at BB for another 30 days

and then your account becomes marked
as
not in good standing
or whatever they call it

in order to be reset into "good standing"
you need to transform
ALL
your approved names back to them

lovely .. right?

I lost my faith on BB when I saw the visitor stats. There were two views on average per name per month. My worst names have more views on UD.

But I guess that is bound to happen when you have 50K + names .
