Thanks, FYI:

Which is correct yea or yay?

(Just trying to help a bit) I wasn't sure myself, until now...
yea / yeah / yay. β€œYea” is a very old-fashioned formal way of saying β€œyes,” used mainly in voting. It's the opposite ofβ€”and rhymes withβ€”β€œnay.” When you want to write the common casual version of β€œyes,” the correct spelling is β€œyeah” (sounds like β€œyeh” )

Excess detail = In a sense you were voting...

Have a great night! Yahoo.... :)

Also the same person that started this thread, wow what a surprise conversation about this so called amazing domain. Obviously you didn't get the memo of no privacy on .us domains. Maybe it is time for Trump to tax Chinese .us buyers a 500% tariff.

.us is open to anyone with a presence in the USA or a business relation with the USA
get a US server or a US parking company and the rules are satisfied

Not it is not.

Trademark only restricts competitors in the same industry from using your registered brand name or company name. Multiple registrations, by the same or different companiesβ€”each registration in a different class of businessβ€”are allowed. ... Trademarks are not a name; a trademark is a name PLUS its goods or services.
https://www.quora.com/Can-you-trademark-the-same-word-mark-as-another-company-in-different-industry

No, not usually.
There are industry classes with trademarks and trust me when a brand is trademarked usually they are trademarked in other industries as well. I have seen it so many times when I registered trademarks for my own company with wipo.

Its not only industries but also countries count for trademarks as well. I believe the most obvious trademark for this name in US is the casino business.

The extension is .us so yes it is a trademark issue. The owner can develop and see what happens after.

Most things most the name is reg.ed with the trademark on mind imo.
What type of fool would use it for an unknown dictionary meaning where there is no business possibility with the dictionary translation. Vomiting? Hah..

Buyer wasted their money on this one. And probably wasted our time also, by explaining him why it is useless, while the purpose of the thread was not questioning the name but promoting it..

That was a simple easy to find "almost funny" thing. <edit see below>

Perfect, one country (for example the USA)
Apple
Apple records (the Beatles)
<edit ...snip ... edit>

How much did Apple pay the Beatles?
It was reported that Apple Inc paid Apple Corps $500million to do so. Commenting on the settlement at the time, Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO said, β€œWe love the Beatles, and it has been painful being at odds with them over these trademarks.

Trademarks are supposed to be based on and industries, including the name brand. I am surprised to find out the Beatles label (Apple) did sue Apple computer. This doesn't match with other sources on the topic.

obvious trademark issue.

Semi-obvious, thanks for helping point me in the right direction.

`````
(This is copied from another similar recent thread)
In general, as long as you are clearly in a different industry, then there is no trademark issue.
For the "Big Players" (as an example), if you try to start "Google Pet Grooming", Amazon Canadian Buds :), or "Bellagio Pizza" then you are probably asking for obvious trouble.
