question What type of service do you think is missing in the Domaining world?

I wish there was a service one could hire to move hundreds of domains from one registrar to another.

I find this one of the most tedious things to do and am considering moving to cloudflare when ccTLD support comes but the thought of moving over 600+ domains/transfer codes etc keeps me from doing it.

So if I were looking for a service it would be an honest company who I could give...

They do all the work and transfer the domains using my preferred payment method.

There is a huge risk to a service like this and there would have to be controls and measures but I'm sure if and when a reputable company offers such a service there would be a need for it.

Lots of logistics involved in that but anything is better than spending days moving domains. The last time I moved from canspace to godaddy it took me two weeks to get it done.

That sounds good. Maybe existing registrars could incorporate that to thir current services.

well u would obviously need service which ends up costing u less than the money u save transfering them round vs renewing on curent registrar.

Moving to cloudflare makes sense and I predict most domainers will eventually end up there because they sell at cost. No domain discount club, no BS just cost.

Imagine a service that would facilitate the move into cloudflare from other registrars.
I would pay a company to do the work for me to get it done.

A service which doesn't take a cut ranging from 5% too much 30% after my domain gets sold.

There is, it’s called - DIY or SIY.

I dream of one service to manage all the names. You authorize it as your account manager at all your registrars and using API, you change nameservers, push, etc. from one dashboard.

A few examples:
1. You click the domain something.com and select Afternic. It gets listed via API with your preferred price. You click Sedo, it gets listed and verified. A week later you click BrandBucket/Brandpa and it removes it from all other marketplaces.
2. You are listing a portfolio on Flippa - It adds the TXT record to all your names on various registrars to verify at once.
3. You can check all your expiring names in a single table and manage renewals and autorenewals from there. Maybe also scrape the best transfer prices?

I have less than 200 names and I would use that. Imagine how useful it will be for people with huge portfolios.

the problem with cloudflare is
you can't use a different nameserver
like a parking NS
and you can't have fast transfer

Hmm, that would be problematic

Keep in mind that the service is in Beta right now so there are features that are probably still on the way.

I guess the ultra low cost domain service
is paid by nameserver clients ( $200 / month ) for pro

I don't expect them to allow 3rd party nameservers

I think the primary thing is something that better connects domain owners with those seeking domain names for an organization or business. I know that the brandable marketplaces serve a segment of this business, and services like Sedo, Afternic and Undeveloped are widely used, but still see a niche for something better.

It needs to be a service that is super friendly for potential purchasers and has no broker or entry fee, offers trusted escrow in sales at reasonable costs, accepts and TLD and has structure that makes it easy to find what the buyer may want (i.e. a generic word in the .de extension in niche z and for less than $z), reasonable commission structure and that through online promotion actually gets a lot of traffic from those seeking names.

Undeveloped do most of these things well currently in my opinion, although room to make it more the place that those outside the domain community know to go.

a domain stock market would be awesome, buying and selling virtual stock, not sure how it would work but it would be awesome and something to do while waiting on them to sell.

This would be fairly simple to achieve and is actually close to a service I offer to clients I work with who have a large domain portfolio.

They use our DNS servers and DNS manager. Every domain you add or remove through the manager has the option to add to a marketplace (or remove it) through their API and will set the right TXT records for owner verification.

At the same time it'll request SSL certs for any domain served and proxies you to the landing page over https so you'll never have to worry about SSL as well.

The upside of a config like this is that while you are effectively parking your domains at marketplaces you keep full control of the domain. You'd still be able to receive mail @ the domain for instance.

Managing renewals is a bit harder to integrate but something that would definitely be doable on a commercial product like this.
