I am optimistic as 2018 was a great year for me and I’ve decided to work a little harder this year.

Feeling great going into 2019. I really feel like things are coming together for my domaining business and absent some event that disrupts or kills the market, the next couple of years things will really take off.

I am strongly sure and optimistic of making more sales this 2019. 2018 was fair though didn't have time and money to put in. Am prepared to take the wheels and drive for more sales.

First 2 quarter of 2018 was bad no sale than change strategy in 3rd quarter and acquired some decent names and 4th quarter very good 3 Sales.
Feeling great and very excited going into 2019.

I'm pretty much looking to bring my domaining to a close by the end of this year- mid 2020. It's been fun, but 63 this month, I can just hang around, keep maybe 2-5 for when I'm really old, and my new interest will be web-development inbetween the nurses visits

I've been saying that for the last two years but, this year !!!!! maybe. Nearly 20 years of pretty much just playing around has been OK. But that's long enough.

Nope - no bargains to be had, not until I've put my head/hands to the grinder till at least the summer

Entered domaining in sept. 2018, made newbie mistake of registering junk, but luckily sold one to return my half of the investment..that too on 1st jan 2019...so I can say a good start for me ...learnt a lot from here...got some good one...also investing more but carefully & in small amount, what I can afford...very confident to make atleast 3-4 low to mid $xxxx sale this year. Lets hope for the best!!

I did not vote because I am somewhere between 1 and 2. I am totally confident I will sell some (at least the one this week:xf.wink:) but overall wonder if due to business economic uncertainty and trade disputes this may be a tough year in domains too. If I had to choose one it would be confident. Thanks for the thread.

Las years focus on crypto domains and have some good sales (.com .io, .blog sales). For 2019 i will focus on .com geo + keyword domains

My focus for 2019 is to purchase as many one word .com and .ca domains as I can.
I'm going for quality over quantity and am bidding on average of 5k to 20k on them.

So for me I am going to budget almost nothing for two words+ and everything I can for one word domains.

I am confident about the market but more confident about the market for single word quality domains.

hi

I didn't vote either

cuz, there is no option for folks who don't look at this year or next in particular... but rather view portfolio like a 401k or look at the averages over the years.

so the saying jargon goes, the average domainer only sells 1% to 3% of their holdings per year.

as of now, I only have about 300 domains and only sold about 4-5 names in 2018.
and since 2012 or so, it's been about the same amount of sales per year.

but the difference maker is.... the roi on each sale.

are you selling lots of domains, but only making 10% profit, versus another domainer who only sells 5 names per year, but averages 100%+ returns?

of course some do more and others less
some domainers averages may be higher, simply because they own 1000's domains.
or those who have less than 100 names could average more sales per year..... however, both scenarios are dependent on quality of their portfolio's.

as for confidence, I think you should have that, or gain that, as you go about the task to accumulate, sell and dispose of your domains.

can't be pondering that :poop: at the beginning of the year.... if you didn't have no confidence last year.
unless of course if you a newbie or still dazed and confused, then you forgiven.

:)

puff puff, snort, snort again, sip, ahhhhh

imo….

Sold one already this year, so yeah I guess I'm confident I'll be selling in 2019!

If you are learning, improving & keeping track of averages - each year should be better than the last.
