Hi all,

Just wondering how much of a dent a dash in a otherwise single-word domain name puts in its value. Can anybody provide some insights?

For example:

How much lower would the domain name inter-view.com be compared with interview.com, and how about other TLDs?

Thanks

If you add a hyphen in the middle of a word, it takes all value out the name.

You can get lucky with a few words where it makes a little sense, but its unlikely

Avoid hyphens in domains, unless its a .DE, Germans dont mind a hyphen.

Suppose it's one of those lucky ones that make sense, annd suppose it's a .DE. How much less value does the one with "-" as opposed to the one without it?

For instance: -

Berlin-Wall.de

vs.

BerlinWall.de

It really depends on whether you can find an end-user for it and how deep their pockets are. I would have BerlinWall.de over Berlin-Wall.de any day. This is different because its 2 words. I would not want Inter-view.de though, in .DE or any other extension, thats putting a hyphen in the middle of a word which doesn't work
